Boff180 well you haven’t exactly given him much reason not to listen/believe the information he was given. If you look at it for from purely representative point of view the Indian airforce would probably want to showcase their own fighter in the flying display. Plus flying display wise there’s only 3 acts I can think of. Tejas solo display, suriyakirans and the sarang helicopter display team. Which have both joined together. Now if India was going to commit to the flying display it’s going to be one of those three items. The aero India show last year consisted of mainly flypasts with only the display teams stated above doing a full display.
Point I’m making is what’s wrong with a bit of speculation about what’s coming to the show it’s all part of the fun and the excitement and actually what he’s saying is very plausible 👍

As good as it would be you can't exactly blame people for being cautious with the information when his last two messages alone contradict each other.

Thursday 30th June 2022" Don't be surprised if the Japanese and Indian air force pull out in a few days time"

Sunday 3rd July 2022 " I just heard that the Indian Air force are bringing their Tejas jet for the flying display 😍"

It’s okay to be wrong. I mean look at others who sneered at others when an E-4 was mentioned people said ‘no chance’ and when it was announced there was a lot of

Surely if you’re going to say ‘I heard’ though you follow it up with ‘from’…

Saying you heard it, is vague. Dave down the pub, RIAT nutters, or an official leak?

It's only there when it's in the overhead, or, preferably, on the ground! I learnt to live with this approach after the A-4 Skyhawk went tech on the day!

Wasn’t the Tejas’s supposed to be on a exercise in the UK of recent that was cancelled, maybe they see RIAT/Farnborough as another opportunity to build relations/showcase the aircraft? (I could be totally wrong due to my less than perfect knowledge and also digging into something that might not be true at all).

From June 24th until July 22nd.
3 Su-30 and 2 C-17 participate in a exercise in Egypt. Well that's nearby...

Just because the IAF are flagged as ongoing doesn't mean they will bring something - they might decide after discussions that they want to decline. Perhaps those are the only 'acts' that could come over but until they are flagged green, don't assume anything is coming.

And agree Duff, unless posting a source it’s pretty irresponsible to post ‘I heard etc…..’ otherwise it gets all our tails wagging for no other reason than what someone told them after 10 pints.

I think you need hearing aids or need to stop believing who told you that.
He just needs to tell us where he has heard it from, if he has at all, so we can make better judgement before anyone has a dig at him.

No criticism, but to be fair you’re asking to prove a negative - surely it’s the person asserting the fact that has to prove it (or at least substantiate it).

Nothing at all, and it’s so close to the show now, either we find out some great news this week, or we just have a lovely surprise on arrivals, or it doesn’t turn up at all. Either way, it’s all a bit of fun! 👍🏻

They did want to bring a bunch over to Waddington recently, and I have heard (private messages otherwise I’d share the post as always) of a possible a Indian transport due to the U.K. soon, but that could just be dropping of Farnborough delegates or anything else.

I'm still struck down badly with COVID and now my mother is starting to show symptoms (my mum's in the vulnerable category), so looks like I not be able to attend after all. Some things come before an airshow :(

I mean, for all the comments about asking for Flightech to prove his reasons for thinking they are, I wonder if you'd like to confirm how you know they're definitely not.

I think we're all assuming they won't be there, but there was a famous post on here a few years ago about someone saying (they used the terms 'fact' and 'end of') the airshow at Scampton wasn't happening and then it did.

So I'm just saying, how do you know they are definitely not coming?

Volunteer that works on the weekly aircraft updates. Does that qualify?

Save the trees!!
I always have to think of this one if someone comes up with comments like these.

P.S. Are we gonna hit the 100 pages mark of this topic before, during or after the show?

*to CJS -

Again, as per my post before - you’re asking to prove a negative.

How do you know that JASDF Eagles are definitely not coming? Or a Latvian Hip, or an Ecuadorean Cheetah, or almost any participant from a nation either invited or ongoing that hasn’t officially declined? And if that’s the same standard you apply to the Tejas, then let’s all start getting excited about Italian Navy AV-8s and Kazakh Flankers!

And tbf, even if there was “proof” it might be private or confidential.

It’s the person who posts an assertion about something that has to back it up.

Anyway, apologies, I know it’s all fun, and either one will turn up or one won’t, so I don’t want to make much of a thing of it, but don’t let the mere desire to see something cloud one’s logic.

We’re well down on that number. We’re usually approaching the 200 mark by this time of the year.

Mind, there has been a distinct air of civility (especially during some robust discussion) and decency and a lack of the usual moaning and griping than we usually have. What has the pandemic done to you all?!

To steer the thread in a different direction, do we think we'll get a Treason Day update? If so, what do we think it'll be? (I know this is bordering on a wish list but it's not against the realms of possibility going on previous years)
