Duxford Sunday 1st August (Part 1):

An early arrival this morning was Aero L-39ZA Albatros G-SHMB. Built in 1986 for the Bulgarian Air Force, it still carries the 'Mayzus' sponsors markings worn when Czech based. Presently the only flying L-39 in the UK, it featured in a recent 'Warbird Workshop' TV episode.
It arrived from its Blackpool base to be the opening act at today's Old Warden airshow, but bad weather delayed its appearance there to around 1700.
Many thanks to JH.

Nice to see what the L-39 looks like. Its display at Old Warden was flown somewhere the far side of Biggleswade, so it was never more than a distant speck on the horizon.

Great pictures as always David but particularly like the close up of PA474s' engine, you wont believe how much you have helped me, over the years, with your detail shots from Hanger 2 and 5, with regard to modelling projects!

Long may you continue :left_facing_fist:
...and pray that there's intelligent life somewhere up in Space cos there's bugger all down here on Earth!

Duxford Wednesday 11th August:

today's Flying Day was a very low-key affair after last week's event. The BBMF Lancaster saved the day with three sets of engine runs, a visceral and oddly moving experience !

New on the airshow circuit this year is Christophe Simon flying a vigorous and precise routine in the Tiger Club's CAP10 G-CDCE:

Also flying today was Peter Kuypers in his Yak 50 'Sasha'

Where does it say on the HAC website? At the bottom it says the site hasn't been updated since March 2021

It was in an advert for their £175 Fury/Nimrod ‘Silver Wings’ photo day at Duxford this afternoon. It was posted on their Polish Heritage Flight website, which is the one they seem to keep updated these days.

That's an absolutely outrageous amount of money. I did a flight in the EAA's B-17 "Aluminium Overcast" in 2018 when I was at Oshkosh, admittedly not an air-air photoshoot, for $400 (c£325). Just saying...
