Manston - B727-2SF - G-OSRA

Post by Thommo95 »

With interest in my photo via a link to another forum of G-OSRA in this topic viewtopic.php?f=42&t=57597#p570205 here it is in full. Paying a visit overnight following a crew training flight from Lasham to Manston is G-ORSA, operated by T2 Aviation in the Oil Spill Response roll. This B722 is special as was the last to of the 727's to roll off the production line!

Does it fly around above oil spills just to even out the pollution between sea and air?
Nice though

Recently saw it at in the hanger at Lasham on a group tour but were not allowed to take graphs, shame it was not out side at the time.Believe another one is being converted shortly if not at the moment.

Thanks very much for the comments.

The aircraft flies above the oil spill and is converted to carry dispersal solution which is sprayed onto the spill through spray bars located at the rear of the aircraft.

Shame it's not based somewhere instead of Fort Knox Lasham!
