Storm Animal - Beluga Testing in Shannon

Storm Animal - Beluga Testing in Shannon

Postby Anhedral on Sun 14 Apr 2019, 10:14 am

Haven't posted in a while but we had a little excitement in Shannon for a change. The weather conditions were suitably poor (strong and gusty crosswinds) to entice Airbus to send the new Beluga to us for certification testing work. The plan was to test and gather data for crosswind handling during rejected take-offs which proceeded as planned until an apparent engine snag cut short the visit. An impressively large (if not particularly attractive) aircraft which drew a large crowd to watch proceedings. A few pics from the day
