It feels like an absolute age since I've photographed an aircraft - the last time was actually at Cosby last year but even before then I'd not photographed or done anything vaguely aviation-related since the start of lockdown. So, a quick look at the forecast and a last-minute decision was made to make that loooooong trek (15 mins ) to Cosford for the Threshold.aero nightshoot yesterday.
It was great to see familiar faces and have the opportunity to be on a base in front of aircraft again. The weather was perfect albeit a few clouds would have been nice to add a bit of colour in to the sky. The only issue was the timing. The light was perfect as the sun sank behind the trees, casting a lovely warm glow especially on the desert pink trio of Jaguar, Tornado and Buccaneer. And then we waited....and waited....until it got properly dark for each aircraft to be properly illuminated against the lights. By this time it was approaching 9pm and we had little over half an hour to dash round and photograph everything. And by dash, I mean dash! It was rushed towards the end so not as good as the first shoot Threshold did at Cosford a few years back which would have been before the clocks changed. But at least it was dry and not too chilly.
Anyway, enough rambling and here's a few I've gone through while on a "tea break" this morning - thanks for looking. This work from home malarkey is good innit!

Great to see these Ian - very smart indeed. Not so much a nightshoot as an evening shoot!
Re: Garf at Cosford
Good to see you again mate! Quick processing, too! I haven’t even looked at mine yet.
Nice set. I’m in love with the Tornado! It is a proper war machine look to it!

Great images.
I did 2 tours at Cosford in the Tech Trg Hangars and loved it.
Also 17(F) was my Brüggen Sqn Tour, so those sides of CA are special too !

Very nice Ian and good to have a proper catch-up - it's been too long!
The sunset Tornado is particularly nice.

A nice series, Ian. I love the Bucc and wish that I had seen one fly whilst they were in service.

Thanks everyone! This is the other thing as well I've missed, the social side and not having caught up with people face-to-face for such a long time.
