I wonder why they haven’t saved today’s update for Thursday?
Thursday is 100 days to go. My guess is it's time for the USAF anniversary participants to be officially announced. Next week is the Easter announcement too so perhaps a nice Easter Egg to look forward to?
Website is saying 100 days today (100 days, 14 hours)

Blimey, i've only just seen the ticket cost for Saturday! £62 :astonished: I'm assuming this is to make up for the previous missed events?

It depends what your reference point is, First arrival; the Friday show or the Saturday full show. Lets just say this 'weeks' announcement is for 100 days to go. From the email sent yesterday the RIAT team have singled out the Red Arrows for the 100 day announcement leaving Thursday for something else. Interesting language used in the email. I'd say the new marketing team are quite new to aviation.

Indeed - it makes (thankfully) rolled over price from 2020 / 21 (£49) look very good value!

One thing i’ve learnt from years gone by, never set your hopes too high. As when a Robinson R44, Vigilant T1 & Tutor are then confirmed for static it can feel very meh!

Roll on the Camo Israeli F15 being confirmed for the flying :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Latest update - 7th April 2022
Another fast jet confirmation for the flying display this week, as we welcome the return of the Zeus Demo Team from the Hellenic Air Force!

Fantastic news received from Portugal, as they make a welcome return to the Air Tattoo, with a rare appearance of their Epsilon training aircraft planned for the static display.

We are pleased to confirm another heavy for the static display, in the shape of a Boeing C-17 Globemaster from the Heavy Airlift Wing. In his letter informing us of their participation, the Commander of the HAW remarks "I look forward to once again enjoy your remarkable airshow - without doubt the best military airshow in the world! Last time I participated in RIAT was 1997 flying the solo display with the JA 37 Viggen."

A pair of classic jet confirmations for the static displays this week, from both sides of the Atlantic. Firstly, Europe's only airworthy Sabre will be flying into RAF Fairford to form part of our USAF 75th Anniversary display. Secondly, as an aircraft type which was in service with the Royal Air Force in 1952, we're pleased to have a Gloster Meteor on display this year as the Queen celebrates her Platinum Jubilee.

The Sabre - for all the reasons I understand - to have on static only is an absolute crime.

Not seen a Sabre in years, the Golden Apple one based at Duxford was a real treat. The Meteor is another great classic that will be brilliant to see. Zeus has improved itself since it’s display over Birmingham in 2015, and an extra heavy is just great from NATO’s Airlift Wing. Portuguese Epsilons (it’s a pair!) sound like a nice juicy addition to the trainer theme.
I am impartial to a bit of jet noise.

Solid update - fast noisy jet for flying; and a chonk heavy, two elegant classics, and a rare as hen’s teeth item for the static.

Interesting to see Estonia, Egypt, and NZ flashing.

Egypt would be a new nation?

Nice to see a return from Portugal, too. It’s been, what, since 2013/14?

Thirded (but I do get why).

Lovely update - will the Meteor be on of the MB aircraft I wonder, or will be be coming by road (as I think has happened occasionally in the past?) because there aren't any others flying in the UK still are there?

Another great update that ticks all the boxes: something rare, something big, something old, something noisy.

Great great stuff.

2014 with a C-295! (It feels like a couple of years ago, would have never said 8!)

Its one of the MB aircraft, silver one would make a nice change. Only Meatboxes coming by road will be the burger vans.

Will settle for an Egyptian Buffalo or two if they can spare a camo and a VIP schemed one for the week.
