Topic of the week #20 Seaplanes

Post by Blackbird »

It's getting increasingly tricky to find something we haven't already covered, and I know we've already had "water", but I thought I go specifically for seaplanes (or floatplanes/flying boats if you prefer). The usual five entries. Off we go!

A quick heads-up for anyone who hasn't yet posted their entry and would like to - I'll be picking the winner early (about 8 ish)tomorrow morning.

As ever a great, diverse range of aircraft and some excellent photography. After a great deal of head-scratching, the winner is Derek's DHC Beaver at sunset (or sunrise?) somewhere in Canada. I must also give a more than honourable mention to Pete's superb Martin Mars shot.

Over to you Derek.

Thanks Andy. Missed this. For info the Beaver photo was taken at sunset in November 2010 on the Fraser River near Vancouver airport seaplane base.
I'll have a think and get something up very soon.
