I'm wondering if someone has simply made a mistake and it was something else, or one of the HHA ones was up on a routine flight and just happened to be near Cosford at the time.

Catalina is on her way. Sat out in York with the dog and it's just come bimbling over.
Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Leaving it a bit late to announce any additional aircraft in the flying display, as was alluded to on Twitter the other day. Wonder if they all fell through?
Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
First airshow since 2019 for me
Can't wait
New camera and a teleconvertor to take my normally ample 400mm to 800mm
Arriving nice and early to setup and chill before the show
First solo show aswell

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Catalina just flown over the garden, so should be there about now.
Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
I don't think anything else will be officially announced but im certain there will be things added to the flying display that we dont know about.
Nothing else was added officially to the static list but the Herc and Irish PC-9 turned up yesterday.
I think it's just a matter of turn up tomorrow and see.

Tutor display was quite good. I left the platform after it, as I didn't think much more would be happening. Looks like I was right.
Good to see the Historic Helicopters arrival.

Well the Catalina is currently up doing a PD so probably hogwash.
Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
The Lynx and Wessex both did practice displays too.

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Hi All, its my first time attending Cosford tomorrow - i have heard the entry queues can be quite lengthy…
we will have a 3 year old with us so obviously dont want to be waiting ages to get in - any recommendations on the best time to arrive for a swift entry is welcome
Thanks

If your circumstances allow it then around 7am mate (the last few shows the gates have opened well before the advertised 8am) and just have a chill out. The traffic is historically very bad from around 8.30 onwards.

What constitutes very bad? Are we talking an hour of queuing to get in or three?! Heard that the last show was a lot better than earlier years so hoping lessons have been learnt and it won't be awful but I am slightly nervous...

I would say anything over a hour and half…Woodford_was_wicked wrote: ↑Sat 11 Jun 2022, 6:54 pmWhat constitutes very bad? Are we talking an hour of queuing to get in or three?! Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Good to be prepared for it at least, thanks. It's it mean to hope the concern about the flying display will put some people off using their rollover tickets?!
On a happier topic... what stuff seems to be involved that isn't "official"? From what I've heard on the rumour mill I make it...
Wessex and Lynx - flying (practice displays suggest it)
Gliders - flying?
"Something" from the valley - flying? (nothing on the ground so far as can tell)
Chipmunks - flying and/or static (the tweet seemed to be ambiguous but consensus on here seems to be they're flying?)
Hercules - already on the ground.
PC9 - already on the ground
Anything else? Anyone here based at Mildenhall and heard any rumours?!

The lynx will be a nice one to see! Just bizarre they wouldn’t announce these things
Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
The vintage pair of Chippies are parked on the live side of the fence ( I think I heard them on the scanner mention a practice display, but they hadn’t before I left at about 4pm)

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Certainly is, great little addition. Could be up over twenty flying acts now including the flypasts so with a shortened display time hopefully won't be too many gaps.
Looking forward to it. Cheers for all the info everyone who's been nearby and spotting/listening to what's going on!

I do not know where this has come from, but it seems to have the times correct(ish) from what we already know . (falcons, Reds, Typhoon)

Re: Cosford Airshow 2022
Would presume also that the F-35B will be one of the "RAF Flypasts" at the end, hence why it is not on the flying list. Sounds like Valley will be contributing at least a single Hawk too. One can hope for a 4-ship given they recently took part in the Jubilee flypast, although I am just being greedy.
