Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
I take it all back and stand very corrected.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Also a flying participant from Leonardo on the Friday only - their Puma replacement candidate the AW149.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
kuwait typhoon is on static on all 3 days, E-4b on static on sat and sun only.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread

Sorry, I've just picked myself up.
How have you managed to arrange that one Peter. Phenomenal, only ever seen one before across the ground at Mildenhall, so superb, star of the show at present for me.
Hopefully its arriving on Wednesday or Thursday not at midnight.

After looking at the photo on the website of the Global Express, appears to be an ex RAF Sentinel, going by the reg shown, N692BD.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
has there been an boeing 747 on static before?
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Pah, E-4. Hope it's not one I've shot before...
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Why is it not flying?! Coming all that way from America to be surrounded by blue cones. The flying display is missing a star item!
Joking, I genuinely have convinced myself that we might see the B-1 flying this year, based on nothing but the FC post and delusional thinking.

Yes, it’s an ex-RAF Sentinel. They’ve all been purchased by Raytheon.Gripenjetphotos wrote: ↑Thu 30 Jun 2022, 11:16 amAfter looking at the photo on the website of the Global Express, appears to be an ex RAF Sentinel, going by the reg shown, N692BD.

Wow, cracking job DBH getting the E-4B!
Also, a Spanish F/A-18B & Kuwait Typhoon on static are nice addtions too.
The civilian list this year is the best I think I've ever seen for an Air Tattoo since I've been coming to the show. Well done all round.
Hoping due to their size the E-4B & A340 will be Wednesday arrivals instead of late on Friday....but it is what it is

251 aircraft on my list so far, still plenty of visitors/support that will increase that total.

Not the sort of airframe that I would think the USAF would want at the back of static and inaccessible?Light Chop wrote: ↑Thu 30 Jun 2022, 11:27 amOr it’s parked in the bit of the show that isn’t open on the Friday?
Far, far rarer than any B52 or B1. I am not sure how often they make it onto static in the US?
