Getting excited for this show now, only a few days to go!

Wondering if the Lanc will make it, and also if we will get a display by the Ultimate Fighters.

Its been two years since my last Duxford airshow!!

Rather more to it than just pushing aircraft out of the hangars. Four Spitfires to arrive, PT879, AR501, TD248, ML407 plus Buchon Red 11, Great War Team, Sea King, Wessex and Whirlwind, Army Historic Flight fleet all to land at Duxford. Should be a highlight of the season, hopefully the weather plays ball, and deserves to sell out.
Are those helicopters arriving Friday do you reckon?

It's difficult to tell from the picture, is the tank bank open? It would be a surprising reversal if it is....

It’s been open for this year’s Duxford shows, but with an adjustment to the display line to keep distance. In other words a corresponding bend on the main display axis.

That said, I haven’t been personally so can’t vouch for whether that’s been observed.

Can anyone report?

It was originally meant as a covid restriction. People could only be in the zone they booked for. That changed though a week or so before the Summer show, and though zones were kept, you could move between them.

It's a bit like RIAT, and how its also divided into Zones, but makes 0 difference when you're actually on the airfield.

I saw a few saying about a Spitfire that declared emergency at Duxford today. Had crazy height/speed changes on radar. Was everything OK?

It was PV202 and apparently landed safely.

For anyone interested, MH434, MH415, EP120, both Comanche owned Mark I Spitfires, ARCo Lysander and P-51 Hun Hunter appear to be at Goodwood for the weekend ...

Same. Quite sad that so much stuff is shipping out to Goodwood- obviously where the money is... This is the only BoB show for 2 years, having missed out on the "big one" last year- it should be rammed full of stuff, and where are the RAF?! Why no Reds, Typhoon, Chinook, anniv Puma on static at least??!! Poor effort.
You caaan't trust the system... Maaan!

Has modern stuff ever been at Bob? I thought the point of the show was to do with stuff of that era

Agreed, especially about the RAF, pretty poor all round, but to be honest it's my first show in 2 years that I can get away for (work) and feel safe in doing so. They could fly a couple of puddlejumpers up and down the flight line and I'd watch and click away happily

On to 2022 eh ST?

Occasionally, yes. The Tornado GR4 made it's last public appearance, along with an F-35 and the Typhoon and Red Arrows displayed for the RAF100. But in recent times, RAF100 aside, not really.

I don't think the Chinook has displayed at a Battle of Britain airshow at Duxford for quite some time.

Of course it would have been nice to see something from the modern RAF but even pre Covid, that didn't always happen at the Battle of Britain airshow.
