Re: Daks Over Normandy - June 2019
Can't wait for this. I wonder if we'll see anything from Lakenheath/Mildenhall making an appearance due to it being a big occasion and to pay their respects?
It really is looking like an incredible event. I remember reading that we'll see some solo's from some of the warbirds, is that still the case?

Have tickets for Tuesday and Wednesday. Plan for Sunday was to watch arrivals from outside so as to be the right side for the sun - if there is any - but seems road closures in place even though it’s not a designated display. May go to Old Warden now to get the 9 departing from there.

It's possible that the Hercs and Ospreys that are heading to France on the Wednesday 'may' pass over Duxford in the morning, but there is no confirmation of this so far.

Why? Bearing in mind that many of the aircraft, if they make it in time will probably need maintenance and the crews will definitely need a break.
seems they will - from Shuttleworth FB page
We are very happy to play host to 9 DC3 variants at Sunday's #flyingfestival www.shuttleworth.org/events/flyingfestival
Six of the nine will be part of 'Aircraft Uncovered' from 10.00-12.00. They will be leaving on Sunday, not in 'formation' but will be a great sight here at Old Warden, as they go off to join what will be a very moving tribute in the following days.

All down operating around Beachy Head and returning to Duxford. Looks to have been 5 or 6 down there.

Is there a list of road/footpath closures?

Daks will be double parked on the grass at Duxford so the grass runway is closed for the week.

Will any of the Dakotas be flying on Saturday?

According to the Facebook page, the aircraft due at Shuttleworth will be going there Saturday, so there should be.
Does anyone know which European aircraft are due to take part? The website has down an LI-2, an aircraft I've never seen and looking forward to seeing, down from Hungary however the list hasn't been updated to take account of some of the aircraft that dropped out from the U.S. does anyone know what is due to be coming over from Europe?

I know its all weather dependent but what time would the formation be expected to fly through ?
