BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
I wonder if anyone out there has a list, or even a few notes that they could share, of who flew what on Sunday 24th at Duxford. I was a bit far from the PA and missed a lot of the commentary but would still like to caption some of my pictures.
Thanks in advance for any help and a big thank you to all the pilots who made it such a great show at the weekend.
This is what I have at the moment and I think are correct:
Hurricane P3700 - Dave Harvey
Hurricane BE505 - Peter Teichman
Hurricane P3717 - Stuart Goldspink
Hurricane P2921 - Clive Denney
Hurricane P2902 - Mark Levy
Sea Hurricane Z7015 - Paul Stone
Blenheim - John Romain
Gladiator - Rob Millinship
BBMF Hurricane - Stu Smiley
Curtiss P-40C - Pete Kynsey
Fury - Richard Grace
Corsair - Alan Wade
Spitfire EP120 - Pete Kynsey
Spitfire BM597 - Charlie Brown

Re: BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
Fantastic, thank you very much for that.
Re: BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
Buchon - Lee Proudfoot
Mark Edwards was in one C-47, Clive Edwards the other
Fury - Charlie Brown (Sat only)
Nimrod - Dave Harvey (Sat only)
Lysander - Dodge Bailey (Sat only)
I think Rolf Meum flew the single-seater Vampire.

It'll be Kenneth Aarkvisla in the MiG, and probably Jyri Mattila in the other Vampire.

Re: BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
Thanks very much everyone for this info.
It might be an idea to do something like this on a more regular basis next season, in the absence of programme notes.
I hope I am not alone in thinking that the pilots should be acknowledged a bit more than they currently are.

Re: BoB Air Show - Runners and Riders
I always like to know who flew what at a display, I am often surprised at those who say 'who cares, it is all about the machine'. I disagree, there are skilled people in the machines, and they deserve credit.

I believe Will Greenwood flew one of the Yak-3M’s (the one in grey camo).
(I think I met him once, years ago, in a bookshop in Hay-on-Wye, of all places. He said he was looking for a book on the Bücker Bestmann, because he’d just bought one!)

Thanks again to everyone for your help on this.
Any thoughts on the other two Mk1 Spitfires?
