I was asked to show my proof but I got the circle of death and he started to waive me on but it then opened and I produced it. I guess some people were asking to show proof and others not.

It's on the website as being required to have a proof of jab, or rapid flow test within 48 hours.

I was asked for mine on both days last weekend.

Shuttle bus is being worked on apparently.

I'm a bit surprised no line up has been released along with tickets. Usually they put out the first few displays along with tickets going on sale.

Typhoon is booked for a show in France this weekend so it won't be there... gutted as this (and Cosford) were my two opportunities to see it.

Unfortunately for me (family commitments), I'll be unable to attend the show that weekend. My only possible window is on the Friday (17th), to maybe catch any arrivals or rehearsals. Will I be able to gain admission there on the Friday?

Yes, Friday is a normal day so you shouldn't have any issues getting in. I went on the Friday before the Summer show (and again on Saturday) but only arrived at about 3pm due to work commitments and traffic but I still managed to see the P47 and 2x P51 display, the Tiger 9 practice, Strikemaster arrival and practice and the Wingwalkers arrival. It's hit and miss though, nothing's guaranteed but the hangers are open.

Decent selection of warbirds there. Still hoping (probably in vain) for some jets, but lets see.

Interesting, but what's given for Goodwood the same weekend, have they confused the shows? Goodwoods seem more connected to a WWII airshow lol.

I wonder if they will be able to work a deal for the Goodwood aircraft to appear at Duxford, though I don't see it.

Goodwood Revival has the Red Bulls P-51, P-38, B-25 and Corsair to attend although its unclear whether it's a flypast/display or just a static appearance. Unlikely to be at Duxford as well which is a shame given that Goodwood is more vintage car racing than aircraft these days.

Goodwood Revival is a big corporate event. Aircraft are invited and more importantly want to be seen there. It gives the owners great pleasure and the power to network with the great and the good. Not suggesting there is anything wrong with that. If I owned a P-38 I would want it to be seen at a major (world ?) event like Goodwood. Sponsorship is key to operating these aircraft, sadly Duxford in September does not pay the bills.

There will be a total of 15 Spitfires flying at the Battle of Britain airshow including one from the BBMF and 14 will fly together.

Yeah, they are still around. Still not seen their 4 ship display. Hope it happens at Duxford.
