As already discussed F22 is certain for Monday, Tuesday only.

Typhoon will be RAF + possibly Alenia aircraft.

Shame about the F22 only on a trade day. Can anyone give some tips on good viewing areas, from outside the showground.
I would really like to get some photo's of the F22

At the end of the runway (SW), on opposite side of the road, there are some good viewing sites, a small hill and most of the aircraft pass over your head but it does depend on which way they take off of course. Also it is possible to get right up to the gate on the perimeter of the showground.

What I would like to know is why can't a "what's flying" and "what's static" ON THE PUBLIC DAYS list be published on the Farnborough site,so the vast majority of us who are going know what we are going to see?
I know Farnborough is as big a trade event as a display show but when we are being charged £25 to get in it would be nice to see what we are getting. This is the first time I've been to this event and got quite excited with what I've read on this forum, only to read later that a lot of the good stuff is on trade days only.At the moment I'm quite disappointed, just hope it might get better....

Im afraid things have drasticaly changed from 15 years ago when 99% stayed for the whole week. We allready know that the F-22 and 787/747 are only there for the first few days. Most of the bizjets will decamp midweek due to the fact that they are parked in a place that they can easily be swapped for static aircraft for the public days. Based on previous years the A380, the Agusta/Aelina static and all the USAF static will remain in place for the week, I have a hunch the A400M wont stay around due to the test program? Looking at 2008 some 18 aircraft departed, or were towed to the TAG ramps before the public weekend.
I think that if the trade exhibitors had their way were would have a Monday-wednesday trade show and then they would all go home! Thursday and Friday are very flat trade wise so they made Friday enthuiasts day. This is a bit of a rip off as you don't get all the trade aircraft but you do get less crowds.

If anybody is interested in viewing spots have a look at the show preview on my website http://www.farnboroughspotters.com

Excellent website very informative, the Eelmoor Bridge area looks like the viewing area suggested by "TheSpur8" Just wondering if you
had any advice about parking, it sounds like the army land carparks fill up early, is there anywhere to park the car within a mile or so of
Eelmoor Bridge on a trade day.

Trade days are not too bad for parking, i normally pop over about 4 to get the departing bizjets after the show and have never had any problems parking at the Army driver training area. Alternative is the road from the bridge towards the AAIB. Past the AAIB you have a tiny fishermans carpark on the right(4 cars max) or the Army golf club on the left. Either way there should be little problem with parking except at the weekend when I avoid the place like the plague, except if I get free tickets.

Lots of quality in that list. Particularly pleased the JF-17 is in the flying display.

Could not agree more.

The static JF-17 I assume will also be a PAF example.

I wonder what will support the JF-17's? IL-78 PAF?

Also the 737 AWACS being shown by the US DOD, who's is that? Turkish, Austrailian or other?

Save turning up in a suit and trying to blag your way in as trade, can you not get in as a 'photographer' providing you have all the gear and are reasonably dressed?

Although I guess then you would probably get a free press pass!

I think you might be disappointed if you try this.

What day is the media day? Do they tend to have the military stuff on the trade days earlier in the week?

Im afraid the organisers never seperate the public and trade aircraft on the website until they actually publish the schedule the week before the show. In effect there are two diffrent shows. You wont see the F22 at the weekend but I expect everything else listed will be there, maybe except the A400M?? Of course you wont see the many of BBMF,Shuttleworth,Great war display team,Hurricane,Catalina, RNHF, Me109 or Spitfire on a trade day, maybe one or two. Trade day flying is shorter and all the fast jets fly one after each other due airspace restrictions.
As for media day, many moons ago it was the Sunday before the show but now its seems not to be a particular day. 40 days to go until arrivals week starts, can't wait :yahoo:

Just building on the last post - is there any website with either an advance list of flying for the trade days - I am sure there was a informal farnboro web site at one time or did I make that up

The official Farnborough Web Site. The daily list and flying times has in the past usually been posted the night before.
