Serials and reggies

Post by DerekF »

I'm after a few missing numbers. If anyone can help I'll be much obliged.

- the white and blue King Air at the far end of the crowdline
- I'm missing three of the Red Arrows. I have XX177, 219, 319, 232, 325 and 244 (XX322, 323, 310)
- Chinook in the flying display ZA713
- four Jet Rangers giving pleasure flights (G-PTOO was the only one I got)
- Two black Jaguars between the hangars, one GR3, one T.2/4
- one of the Italian light weights (I got I-A717, I-A783 and I-9401)

I'll post a full list when complete.

Derek,

I logged the Reds leaving Shawbury as:
XX232 325 310 322 323 244 177 219 and 319.

And for the record - the spares were - XX204 & XX242

Certainly does help.

Many thanks Paul

The Jaguars were between hangars 3 and 4 and I just couldn't get a position to see the serial. Gloss black and I think they were both open to the public.

Currently compiling my own list Derek and having a trawl through Flickr for what I missed (particularly trying to find each Jag on display!) Hope I can help you with the black Jags; do you mean the ones next to the grey twin-stick XX840/EY?

If so, from the images I've seen which include the nosewheel doors (where the codes are) it was:

Jaguar GR1A - XX965/C
Jaguar T2A - XX141/T

The King Air on the VIP flightline should have been G-IASM, operating at BROADSWORD 03.

There were three gloss black Jaguars between hangars 3 and 4. They were along the back and two I missed were being used were nearer hangar 3. I think that's wher teh ETPS and XX119 were prked. I know there was a T.2 and a GR1/3.
I'll go through your list and check it against what I wrote down.

Very well done WG655 (and no doubt all who helped,) on a very comprehensive log, which is most helpful.
A few of them I simply never saw, but that's the penalty of bad legs on a big site.
There is one addition which initially puzzled me. In Victory Village there was a Spitfire, BS435, which I'd never heard of before. Turns out that it's a replica, owned by a group from Lytham St. Anne's, who take it around various shows as a memorial.
Congratulations once again on an excellent log and an excellent site.

A few additions that I noted.

G-ATSI Bolkow Junior
G-COSF Piper PA28-161 Cherokee Warrior
G-DKEY Piper PA28-161 Cherokee Warrior
G-BNRP Piper PA28-181 Cherokee Warrior
G-CGKD Grob Tutor
G-CGKE Grob Tutor
XZ389 BL Jaguar GR.3

Your Jaguar list matches mine (apart from the one above) so still no ID on the two black aircraft.

Taken from the aircraft allocation spreadsheet that I had for AS15...

XZ358 (L) - Jaguar GR1 - TCF Sit-In Display - Zulu Dispersal
XX965 (C) - Jaguar GR1 - TCF Sit-In Display - Zulu Dispersal
XX821 (P) - Jaguar GR1 - Weapons Display - Hangar 3
XX141 (T) - Jaguar T2 - TCF Sit-In Display - Zulu Dispersal
XX837 (Z) - Jaguar T2 - Jaguar Threeship - Zulu Dispersal

*(May be different to what was actually positioned!)
