Why the " " when Peter has said they're not coming..?
A little credit for trying to get them regardless.
Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
With the Huey and Loach in the display, it's a shame the O-2 is in the static park, get that and a Skyraider in the air for a nice little Vietnam set peice

I'm guessing Bronco Demo Team, after seeing their display at Duxford last year
Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
The Gazelle Squadron have Cosford pencilled down for their 2017 season. Thought their display was very good last year so if it's true, it's another very good addition!
Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
I think given the pretty swift actions by organisers to say that they are *not* confirmed at shows yet, I'd take it with a dose of salt and all that...

Morning Chaps, I can confirm that Gazelle Squadron are not booked for the show at this stage. They have been asked to amend their misleading website.

Since denied on Twitter! Understandably people have put a picture of a U-2 on official "Cosford air show" page and assumed it's for the show..

You did not see the great vintage warbird display at Cosford 2016 then.

[center]Participation Update 17/1/17[/center]
- Two Cessna O-1 Bird Dog aircraft have been confirmed for display at the Air Show...
- Bird Dog N5308G will be on static display in the Vintage Village, representing the Battlefield Support theme.
- Bird Dog G-PDOG will be performing in the flying display, as part of a special Battlefield Support set piece alongside a number of other historic aircraft.
- The first aircraft from the RAF Museum to be confirmed for external static display is the British Aerospace EAP. This will be on display in the DOTA to maximize photographic opportunities.

Sorry! Deployed Operations Training Area. To the far west of the airfield, in what some refer to as the 'Blast Pens'. As seen in this image...

Hopefully the Sikorsky MH-53M Pave Low will be outside, but appreciate the difficulty moving those aircraft out of the museum.

Nice.
One slight request though, which may or may not be workable. When parking them in there any chance of putting a slight angle of say 30 degrees on them instead of perpendicular to the back wall, just gives the photos a little more balance than all front ended.
Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
Personally I disagree, I think they look better and in a more natural / operational position when perpendicular than at an angle. Plus they could possibly get more in when they are straight.

EAP spent a lot of time operationally in the blast pens then? Personally I'd rather a couple of rare and well parked statics than as many as you can ram in at any cost like last year.
Re: RAF Cosford Air Show 2017 - [Main Topic]
ositionde
OK so the EAP was never actually operational being an experimental aircraft but when they put ex operational aircraft in there I just think its better that they are positioned as they would be in the field after all is that not the point of putting them in there? As for the static line up as a whole ive never really been that interested in the ground displays at Cosford as it tends to be too busy and too many cluttered backgrounds. I search out the gems like the TSR2 or the Bristol in previous years head straight for the blast pens and then park myself on the crowdline.

I haven't been to Cosford since 2013 as it's a bit of a trek for me, but the EAP being outside has sold it for me this year. I think it'll look great in one of the pens.
Ticket just booked along with the good old Premiere Inn Wolverhampton north for Saturday night.

Do you mean 2015? If so, yes (it was fine for a mil show, but points deducted for historical inaccuracy ) but my previous post was aimed at the suggestion of a Vietnam set-piece. Something they do brilliantly every year at La Ferté.
