The Reds are at Scampton, the Typhoon is at Coninsgby, the weather looks much better than last year.

Clear blue skies all day maybe not but doesn't look too bad to me with scattered cloud and sunshine forecast, been to plenty of great shows over the years that had far worse weather so hope all those going have a great time, decided not to attend this year but will be watching online.

With all the talk about being as far west as possible, is is that the general direction they fly in from based on the wind conditions currently being experienced?

Just wondering if somewhere like Hatton is too far out and if any viewing is possible out there anywhere?

Really just hoping to catch a glimpse of the b1 so not going in sadly.

Thanks

I think I'm going to give it a miss....

We're going to Fairford in a few weeks so will see most of the flying acts then.......apart from the B1/52 flypasts which are the only things I was really really looking forward to!

£50 + potential traffic nightmares (plus the chance of cancellations) makes it an expensive and long day for just the 2 unique draws!!

No, it's because the RAFAT and Typhoon will be displaying on a new westerly display line. Personally I'm forgetting about them and staying east, where it will hopefully be less crowded for the other displays!

I too am at RIAT but theres a number of unique draws for Cosford this year.
Arrive early enough and there is no traffic nightmare.

As for West is best - seems after watching practice today theres plenty of reason to do the opposite...

This - crowd line was jam packed 2 years ago so hopefully the enticement of the Typhoon and the RAFAT will encourage people to go West

If going by the usual fairytale numbers of 90% of the crowd being made up of joe public, then the majority will not have a clue about the West thing.

True, but I am expecting (hoping) announcements will be made through the commentary encouraging people to go that way

That'd be a good idea. "Right everyone, most of you have only come to see the next 2 acts, so if you'd like to make your way in an orderly fashion to the far end of the runw...hey! I said in an orderly fashion. Oh heck :hide: "
With just the slightest bit of finesse, I might have made a little less mess.

Weather. Met office Albrighton. Forecast for sunday as of 11pm the night before.
No greater than a 10% chance of rain before 4pm. Visibility either very good or excellent.

The only issue I see is the windspeed. In saying that its not forecast to be any windier than Saturday.

If I may be a bit cringe and plug my own account, which I seldom do (and cos I'm on the mobile and you can't get the bbcode from the Flickr app); y'all can look forward to a fully-swept topside pass right along the crowdline from the Italian Tonk.

Just so awesome...

I think I will just go with my normal crowd centre as I will see the reds and typhoon a number of times this year but not the Swiss or the tornado etc.

My bad! Was really impressed with the Swiss display yesterday so you should be in for a treat with that. Traffic doesn't seem too bad from what I'm hearing, have a good day folks!
