Is there not some still flying in the UK ? Or has our full fleet deployed ? Poor showing if there’s an airframe just sat on the tarmac at Marham. Poor show from the home team as such with no F-35 or any heavies for static or flypasts.

I know, rubbish isn't it - I mean they've only got all four of the fixed wing display teams appearing...

Which is surely a given for the RAF’s only show.... my point is more that the RAF obviously don’t care about showcasing there assets to the public and many possible future recruits where as the Navy can. Up until very recently look at the amount of assets used in the commando assault at Yeovilton but the RAF can’t even provide
One of each type that can be accomadeted at Cosford for static IE a Chinook or an A-400M or Herc on static. Can’t quite remember if it was last year or 2017 where there was an RAF voyager that routed over the welsh border not even 5 minutes flying time from Cosford but it went straight to Brize rather than even one flypast to showcase the aircraft. To me that just shows a lack of will to support the show. Cosford as a show has
Been improving year after year recently and I hope this continues to be the case but I believe this is just because of Peter and his team getting foreign participation and interesting civilian acts. The RAFs support for the air show is dwindling and in the next few years I can see Cosford becoming a civilian organised show.

Just my opinions before I get the airforce are here to protect the nation not for airshows brigade on my back. (So are the Navy but they manage to get a decent amount of there assets to there show.)

You are, yet again, showing a complete lack of understanding as to how military assets are displays, if they can be displayed, and if so where and when they can be.

I've lost track of how many Cosford threads you've made the same points and people have taken time out of their collective days to explain. I'm not sure there's any point anyone doing it again.

I do understand how airshows are run but it still doesn’t change the point I’m making. I won’t make the point again on here if it offends you.

I’ll get it back on topic.
Has anyone shot arrivals and practice displays from anywhere else than the train station ? I know you get good views up there but have done the Saturday the past few years up on there and wondered if anywhere else had good views over the airfield ? Wouldn’t imagine there’s as many if any road restrictions on the Saturday ?

it's become as predictable as "meh" on the RIAT thread...

Bit early to be talking about the next Cosford but I asked Historic Helicopters if they might be displaying their Wessex at Cosford, and they said they would next year so thats quite exciting!

There's a Wessex example on static (according to the website), but couldn't work out where it was coming from - an example coming by road?

I'm happy about the Chippies! I always love it when theres a Chipmunk at an air display becuase it gives me the opportunity to say " I learnt to fly in one of those" of course thats a a bit of an exaggeration" but it sounds better than I had a few minutes at the controls when I was an air cadet!

I'm looking forward to Cosford but after last year's extraordinary display I can't help but feel a little underwhelmed. Hoping for another fast jet demo to confirm!

Last year was arguably the grestest Cosford airshow ever and was always going to be imposdible to better this year. The current line up stacks up well against other Cosford shows of the last few years though.

Another fast jet demo would be great! I’m guessing we will have some type of RAF assets flypasts too? I’m guessing an A400 or Voyager but either way, it is looking like a great lineup! Fingers crossed the weather plays ball. Looking forward to arrivals on the Saturday too!

I'd love to be wrong, but maybe a bit late for another FJ announcement now imho?

Yes, probably looking unlikely. But as Cosford shows go, it's as strong as any; Gripen, Hornet, ALCA pair, Orion, Baby Blue.

Would liked to have seen a D-Day FP by the USAF F-15, but other than that good lineup.

Another aircraft that would be better suited in the static display perhaps?

Agreed. There's a few decent things, but a lot of filler!

After years of regularly having Ansons display, i'll happily take the Rapide - and I'd also argue she's a more graceful looking aircraft!

The DOTA area will have four old-school Jaguar GR1 parked within it for 2019. Only two in the blast-pens themselves, at 45 degree angles to the cone line. Any requests on particular registrations...? :icecream:
