Vulture bravo rafale pair at sanicole !

Sanicole are smashing it - at this rate there definitely won’t be anything foreign left for Cosford even if it decides to go ahead.

Reminds me a little of what happened with scampton in 2017

Not sure what that's got to do with Cosford.

Scampton and Sanicole were on the same weekend in 2017. Sanicole hoovered up lots of great stuff whilst Scampton was a more mundane affair.

(I will caveat this by saying I loved the Scampton airshow and would return in a heartbeat whatever the price!)

Hopefully will also have the RAF Chinook display and the Navy Wildcat demo team as well as the C17 and A400M flypasts that are going to Abingdon on the Saturday.

Previously waddington managed to share items with the Belgian Air Force air days and Scampton had the F16 and USAF KC135 shared with sanicole in 2017 - hoping Cosford might be able to get something too if the international travel restrictions allow.

I wouldn't get your hopes too high for a Cosford show in September to be honest. And if it does go ahead, expect a much smaller affair with no international participation planned.

Looks like it's going ahead, spread over two days and I think that there are plenty out there itching to display. Given the lack of shows I think it will be the best Cosford ever.

UKAR have just received the following press release.
8th July 2021 - ANNOUNCEMENT ABOUT THE RAF COSFORD AIR SHOW 2021

The RAF Cosford Air Show team have been closely monitoring the COVID-19 guidance and, after much consideration, we have taken the very difficult decision not to hold an Air Show event over the weekend of the 11th and 12th September 2021.

In light of the Government’s decision to delay the planned lifting of COVID-19 restrictions by four weeks and the rapid spread of the Delta variant, there is too much uncertainty surrounding factors which are outside of our control. Taking this decision now ensures that the future of RAF Cosford Air Shows is secure and we can now focus on our grand return to the skies in 2022.

We are devastated to be in this position once again but, as with many events, the health and safety of the public, as well as our serving personnel, and the financial security of future shows must be our priorities.

Customers who have held onto their tickets will be able to request a refund through our website at www.cosfordairshow.co.uk/tickets , or they can choose to carry their tickets over to the RAF Cosford Air Show 2022. Those who do hold tickets over will not be subject to any price increase.

Exciting plans are already underway for our grand return in 2022, which will tell a 70-year story of aviation and royalty – commemorating the countless achievements in aviation and engineering throughout the 70-year reign of HM Queen Elizabeth II.

We would like to thank all of our sponsors, traders, suppliers and, of course, our thousands of Air Show visitors for their support and understanding. We look forward to welcoming you back to RAF Cosford in 2022.

Gutted, and unlike lots of the other cancellations - i'm actually a bit surprised. I really thought we'd get a Cosford show this year, even if it was going to be smaller.

Absolutely gutted.

Makes you laugh don't it, Duxford going ahead, shuttleworth regularly happening, headcorn happened and lots of other shows going ahead, one tagged with the RAF name and they are too scared to run it.

Kind of think covid is being used as an excuse, bet it's more the finance side is the reason for cancellation

Nooooo

The show was on my 40th Birthday. Would have been a great way to spend it lol.

I would guess they are half expecting a September lockdown again.

Well that really and truly buggers up the chances I thought we may have of getting up close and personal with the Chinook and Puma this year.

Strange timing.

I think they mean the move from June 21st to July 19th slowed down their planning and confidence in the show.

That's all I can think of.

Yes of course, because the financial and planning circumstances of each show are the same allowing them to make the same decisions….

Such a shame Cosford has cancelled, it's the one large show that I was hoping would make it this year.
