Depends how you count them.......if individual aircraft , then yes it's 10 ; If you just count the actual "units" , then it's 8.
After all , do you count aerobatic teams as "1" or by however many aircraft { plus 'spares' } they bring ??
Either way......8 or 10 , they're still only on Static !!

Well RIAT counts every individual aircraft, eg The Patrouille de France will be 10 Alpha Jets not 1 or even 8, on the number of aircraft attending, when the sums are done at the end of the show.

I'm also sure you're very disappointed the Swiss AF Beech 1900 couldn't display this year.

Let me guess.....it's another one that's listed on their own website but has yet to be confirmed by DBH.

Not their normal 11th aircraft (support C-160)?

Question ...........any thoughts on the C27. Is it likely to be a company demonstrator or a delvery flight?

I don't know, but the Italians will give a pretty good job of demonstrating what it can do in the air if their display is anything like the last time they were at RIAT ( ) so given that it's on static only perhaps your second thought is closer to the mark??

Apologies if it's already been mentioned (haven't seen it if it is), but @euroairshows on Twitter is reporting that the Hungarian Gripen display will be at RIAT this year. Usually seems pretty reliable.

Hungarian Gripen will fly at more then 10 shows this year. A few are: Volkel, Zeltweg, Fairford, Kecskemet and Radom

I think it's been mentioned on other sites too - very welcome if it happens

Maybe one that the Americans have on order? They did say something could be "passing through" which means something from there could attend after all...

Not likely. The American's are mothballing their C-27J fleet.

Remember RIAT attracts all sorts of visitors including air arm big wigs, who may be interested in the type.

Well whoever wants to buy it they need look no further than the Italian display over the weekend for what it's capable of - it was stunning last time (award winning I think??)

A small number of US ANG units operated the C-27J, and they're now being withdrawn from service due to budget cuts.

The US also ordered C-27A aircraft for Afghanistan, who have now retired them (back to the US for storage).

Replacing them with a couple of surplus C-130s I think?
