Fumbles wrote:wow! nice one.. Hopefully the weather is the same as last year. I'm not allowed to bring my sandals again this year. Every year that I did, it rained. Last year I didn't and there you go. Anyways..... looking forward to another year at Kempsford with the usual faces and some new ones. Camp J&Cs will be set up with the interesting flag in the forward field as usual.
If those sandals didn't cost to much, I would suggest you burn them
I don't know everything there is to know about our hobby.
Kids, aviation, missus then responsibilities, (in that order)
Sadly work messed up my time off. Had to beg just to get fairford weekend off. So won't be Camping at Kempsford this year. Perhaps its time to look for another job that puts fairford first! Have a good one folks, shame not to be camping this year
Getting there first thing Monday morning and probably setting up the Army 10 man Arctic bell tent with wood burner in the bottom field at the fence again. I find the top field a little busy at times at the fence with all the arrivals gathering pace from Thursday onwards. Come and say hello.
I'm heading down from Leeds on Friday. The info from Kempsford only mentions entry/exit restrictions on Saturday and Sunday, so am I safe to assume I can turn up at the campsite at any (sensible) time on the Friday?

I'm a newbie at Kempsford camping but this will be my third RIAT, coming by myself although I am hooking up with friends on the showground Sat and Sunday. I'm arriving Friday for three nights, would be good to make new friends on site. I used to be mad on planes when I was younger (now 65) and ran imaginary airlines at school! Did an apprenticeship with Westland (aka British Hovercraft Corp) on Isle of Wight when the SRN-4 was being buiilt. I worked on that and also helicopters and the Britten-Norman Islander assembly. Now restore semi-classic cars. Highlight for me last year was the Connie and VC-10, which I used to fly on when younger. My aviation knowledge is a but rusty now especially the more modern types but my faves are military/civilian from WW2, 50s, 60s, 70 plus modern fast jets like F-22, Typhoon, Rafale, will be gutted if F-35 doesn't turn up! If anybody else is camping solo and would like to chat and share a beer or two, my car reg is M519, name Derek, live in Cornwall.
