Good to see that FRIAT packs are arriving... I was getting a little worried since I leave home in 16 days... Would row L be on the grass this year or is that the bottom row on the stand? I keep forgetting

L is the bottom row of the grandstand, X is the seated grass area.

I have a general question regarding the Thursday evening flightline walk. It says you should email or telephone with you're details if you are interested. Are you not allowed if your don't send you're details?

Apparently I'm on the bottom row all week, even though I'm Mach 3. Was told I would be on the Saturday so I can sit with my dad, but didn't want to be all week. >:(

It is usually limited places as they only have a certain number of marshalls. You have to pre-register every year.

I'm a first time FRIATer and I don't understand why the pass has an allocated seat number on it, but a whole paragraph in the letter explains how seats are allocated on the show on Thurs 10th?

Can someone clarify this for me?

Many thanks

Paul

Ladies and Gentleman,

It's that time of year again!

So that other UKAR members know where to find you to say hello, and to see where you physically know where you are we have recreated our FRIAT seating plan for 2014!

If you would like to post your seat numbers into this thread, the spreadsheet linked below will be regularly updated over the next few weeks!

http://www.evansaviography.co.uk/stuff/ukar/riat2014.xlsx

So, let the RIAT build up begin!

Andy :-)

(to kick it off, I am seat A94)

Thursday the 10th 0630 to 0730 is for renewals for 2015.... if you get one of the numbered renewal slips (which are issued in Site 15 during this time) you have a very high chance of being Row A in 2015. These renewal slips take priority, the lower the number the higher the priority.

The number on your ticket is your seat number for 2014.

Andy

EDIT, for returning FRIAT'ers please note renewal numbers are on THURSDAY this year, not Friday.

Paul, the Thursday bit is so you can get your allocation for NEXT year. Basically the first in the queue gets ticket number 1, therefore seat A1 etc.
The old way was rush across the airfield to get to the enclosure first thing on a Saturday morning with accompanying trips, falls, pushing and shoving etc. This way we have an orderly line to get your form, and easier on the girls as they are handed in over the weekend rather than in one mad rush.

Edit: oops didn't see Andy's post.

In theory, but not usually in practice. Remember you can have several people on one form, so I think I had a ticket in the mid thirties, but my seat is a59.
