Our booking form arrived today, just have to decide how many nights in a tent I can stand! I did chuckle at the bit on the newsletter that said despite only being half full they nearly ran out of beer, I wonder why

Crikey! Post in my part of Norn Iron normally arrives a day late, but mine came yesterday too! Form is going back today, airshow tickets are booked, just need to find money for the ferry now!

Lets hope the banner headline "2009 - High and Dry" holds true!

Hi all,

I'm one of the first-timers who is on the waiting list for a booking form. I was just wondering what the campsite is like at night. I'm planning to bring my family with me including three children who will be six, eight and ten. Do you think that the campsite will be suitable? It doesn't need to be like a library, but at the same time it could be a problem if people are playing football against the tent at three in the morning!

Honest answers only please

By the way, in no way am I condemning rowdy behaviour, I'd just rather not put the kids through it. The wife is a different matter...

Hi MajorGrief,
have been there numerous times with kids (and Grandparents) in tow and never had a problem.
We always go to the far end of the field, furthest from the entrance so we're out of the way of any traffic moving round the site.
One suggestion: make sure you take plenty of things for them to do that don't involve running round everyone elses pitches - otherwise you'll quickly find out which are the grumpiest of your neighbours ..

codeMoney, Joe,

Thanks for the advice about camping. You've put my mind at rest, or to be more precise, my wife's mind.

We had a look at the facebook group and very few of the photos did not involve young blokes sitting down, smiling and holding lager. Don't get me wrong - there is nothing wrong with that. If it had been just a 'lads paradise' I would've had to leave the family at home and bring beer instead

the phots with the beer mountain were taken during the saturday last year when we had nothing better to do! (couldnt take them home with us after all... !) Wouldnt worry about noise in the evenings, most people try to be quiet returning from the pub but have been known to fall over the odd guy rope...

I have not been before and I have never been sent a form. My Dad has never been and he has never received a form either.

Think you have to express interest to the campsite first (dont know if you did that).

Graham,

Good stuff, I will lay off the Cider though, 15 years later I still haven't got over a horrible underage drinking episode!
