Today features a massive update of static and flying aircraft!

The update includes a varied mix of civilian types; Hangar 11's P-40 and P-51D both flying, Jet Aerobatics' Jet Provost Mk5 on static and for the first time at the Air Tattoo, Affinity Flying Services Grob 120TP, T-6C Texan and Phenom 100; all part of the new RAF flying training contract, boosting the static display. Elsewhere, the Dutch return with statics; the KDC-10 tanker, C-130H and Dornier Do-228 and Slovenia brings back its PC-9M into the flying display. The British contingent receives a big boost with Army Air Corps Apache in the flying display, Defender 4000 and Wildcat on static; RAF Viking, Vigilant, Puma and Tucano in the static park; and last, but no least, the Royal Navy confirms a Merlin HC3/3A, Wildcat HMA.2, Sea King ASaC.7, Hawk T.1 and Avenger T.1...

Presume the Grob 120, Phenom and T-6 from Affinity are aircraft destined for the new training fleet? Good to see these represented.

A very solid update, good additions to the static and flying. Sloveninan PC-9 is a tidy display!

It's yesterday's press release copied and pasted.

Ah ok, I didn't see the press release and I don't think it was mentioned on here was it? Did we already know the Slovenians were coming back for more this year?

I didn't know. I should probably pay more attention when these things arrive in my inbox!

Meh..... no fast jet disp......

It's an excellent update with superb support from the Dutch.

I assume the Affinity aircraft will be in RAF markings and we will see a formal launch of the flying training program on the Friday?

Also in addition to the P-40/P-51 flypast, is the Hangar 11 P-51 being used for the Heritage Flight with the Raptor that is listed on the USAF ACC schedule?

From the update "For the first time, visitors will be able to see the three latest aircraft types being provided to the RAF under the Military Flying Training System (MFTS) programme - the Grob Prefect, Beechcraft Texan and Embraer Phenom - in their RAF colours."

Will the Grob be coming and going about twenty times on the Wednesday? :tongue2:

Nice update with some fantastic static treats in the offing. Always like to see the KDC-10 on finals.

My "Meh !!" was for several reasons --
The majority of the update are 'statics'.......Most - if not all - being types which have been there umpteen times before.
The P-40 & P-51.....whilst nice to see, they're only doing a flypast not full displays ( awaits the usual suspects churning out the usual "if you want warbirds, go to Duxford" garbage )

Sarcasm? I must be the only one thinking it isn't shaping up to be a classic so far. Hope i'm proved wrong.
