Indeed a lovely catch, but weren't we just saying the other day that it's the air forces that decide what to send, not DBH...

Or is that only when things don't go our way?

I've been saying that for years, we can ask/suggest/beg (delete as you see fit) however it is the air forces that decide what they send if at all. That said, years of work in building and maintaining relationships usually pays off.

Fabulous support once more from Japan, a joy to work with.

Can I ask Tom (and I know you're probably kinda busy so sorry) if this is the same for manufacturers' aircraft? You request, they decide. Or is there more involved in getting, say, the BAE Typhoon display or the Super Bug from Boeing?

Cheers
With just the slightest bit of finesse, I might have made a little less mess.

Can't decide if some of you lot are prepubescent or just totally lacking any common sense.
Either way, its a reason I don't post here.

...except to say, Well done Tom and all involved. Can't wait for next weekend.

More than a passing nod to the 100 pages or so of utter drivel I've had to endure on any of the RIAT threads this year.....
I think its an epic looking show and have done so for at least the past 3 months or so. As Tom well knows!!
Good ole Japan now a record breaking 32 nations.. :win:

Tom, can we have as much of the rare statics as possible, close to the Viewing Village please? My heel spurs are really playing up recently!
I don't know everything there is to know about our hobby.

Kids, aviation, missus then responsibilities, (in that order)

I usually just read these threads rather than post but I am super excited now, this really is going to be a RIAT to remember. I keep thinking "that's it, there can't be any more updates" then my Inbox goes ping and there's news of yet another pending highlight. I mean, Kawasaki C-2 when there's only a handful built so far? It's a great coup for DBH. I've been trying to concentrate on work until Tuesday when we pack to leave for Kempsford camping (coming from Land's End, Cornwall, watch for our St Piran flag) but now I can't stop thinking about it and just want to pack up and go now!

harkins wrote:Whilst flypasts aren't really my thing in truth as the altitude is usually so high, the amazing scale of this and the occasion does make it worth seeing. And it's not like I'll even be able to watch it on TV sat in P&V. Still not convinced that the RIAT RAF 100th has met my self generated expectations. I'm so looking forward to it but, can't help feel a bit what might have been. Missing a 100 aircraft flypast is irking me a bit.

I think i echo some of your sentiments. Maybe im just not realising how fantastic 50 aircraft will look. As i said earlier, you guys are the real aircraft followers, and im just a casual in comparison, so it feels a shame most of you wont see the full 100 planes ,whilst the London tourists will.

Also bit dissapointed it looks like we wont see the 35b perform as such,as ive never seen it before.
But im chuffed you guys are thrilled by the Japaneese update.

Anyway im busy enough stressing about the hot weatber and the traffic to also worry about planes as well.

Yes just saw that thankfully the pilot is OK. ..Hope it has no bearing on RIAT and they dont all get grounded? Otherwise that would be a real shame.
