You're not the only one ! I could only see out of one eye after three hours, then I started getting mild heat stroke and had to give up at about 3pm ! I don't normally get hay fever much but whatever they were growing near the base took me out.

Great show, what I saw of it ! :wall:

On the plus side no problems with traffic getting out so early.

Was being fuelled but I suspect it'll leave early-ish tomorrow morning.

That's surprising on two counts: they usually let everything else go first as B-1 has very strong jet wash so needs a clear area (so wait til Tues), and all B-1s carry hydraulic leaks so would have to be substantial to stop it going. (the B-1 last year had three including a bad one in the horizontal stabilizer and it flew out on the Tuesday). Did you get this from the crew as I'm humming and ha'ing about watching departures tomorrow!?

Probably a silly question. Does anyone know if the Sky Guardian is flying out and if so is it tomorrow?

I’m kinda assuming it may go to FIA, and if so by road given it’s proximity to congested airspace....

Truly remarkable this year. Kudos to the Vampire pair... not easy to fly elderly jets like that with such precision and so smooth. Fast jet standards were spectacular. The Belgian F-16 was terrific - how is it that the Belgians' choreography and executions is always so superb, so intense? Swiss and Finnish F-18s were the best I've seen over the years from both. The RAF Typhoon really top notch, but so was the Italian one... flown quite differently to the RAF one; at a higher speed throughout interestingly. And what is there left to say about the French displays? Time and time again their solo and pairs are among the highlights - but having Mirages is a bit of an unfair advantage; total beasts. I wouldn't want to be deciding the awards this year. Very difficult to pick out 'winners' from that lot. Of course the RAF BBMF routine was awe-inspiring, each of the teams - the PC-7s, Reds, the Fleece and Aguilla superb. Huge skill from all. But what performed the fastest run? Tornado or Mirage?

Best British display: The Reds. I thought BBMF should have won that display

Around now I would imagine :-p
With just the slightest bit of finesse, I might have made a little less mess.

There's something wrong if they don't win something.

As for the RJF; I enjoy watching them,I really do, and I get that it's a beautifully flown routine. I'm also very aware of everything they've done for and brought to the Air Tattoo over the years, but the best display?

Seriously?

The only awards I saw presented were Couteau Delta (not sure of the award), RCAF Hornet for best colour scheme, and RCAF for the outstanding contribution for bringing so many aircraft.

If I recall it showed the same thing last year and they departed together.
