Gonzo's post is dead on.

RIAT wouldn't be ripping people off if they charged ten times what they do.

I know i'm the perennial RIAT supporter, but if any other airshow in the world boasted a flying display like RIAT had on Friday in 2018 and charged £50 for it; I don't think there'd be many complaints.

But we do know that 2019 won't see a flying display like 2018's Friday had. It has been made very clear by DBH from the start. I don't remember an uproar about Friday in 2018, but there is one about '19 when DBH charges a 2018 price for a 2017 or earlier type of event.

Perhaps there's real scope for an RAF F-35 appearance this year. I loved seeing it hover last year, we've sorely missed that simple but awesome party-trick at British airshows.

Fantastic support from the Spanish Navy. I’d better buy my tickets this week. An outstanding and rare first participant!

Seems too early to be getting drawn in to the inevitable car crash thread of 2019, but that is a great start for the event and hopefully a sign of things to come.

Amazing start, great first participant and couldn't really be better in my personal opinion.

My first, and maybe last chance to ever see a harrier fly and to say I'm excited would be an understatement :yahoo: :yahoo:

Like many here, I said I would not attend Farnborough again but just had to go last year for what I thought was a last chance to see the Harrier. Never crossed my mind it would attend RIAT in 2019. The Harrier is simply a legend in my book. Superb start.

Fantastic update for this year :yahoo:

It does make me wonder though, what were the barriers preventing it from attending RIAT last summer for RAF 100?
The aircraft were certainly already in the UK during the dates of last year's Air Tattoo...

Anyway, musings aside, very excited about July!

Not seen a Harrier Display for a very long time great update, really hoping we get to see a B-1 high speed pass this year instead of just static, fingers crossed.

A 'just static' B-1b would be enough of a catch, don't take their attendance in any form as a given, or even as likely.
