Is the pit access on Friday worth doing and how much access do you get is it similar to what you get in the static park?

You get a few hours before the flying display, a few hours after the flying display and most (if not all) aircraft have their covers on. If it is worth it for you, you have to decide for yourself.

I think part of the main static display is out of bounds too, which may be another consideration.

Yep....anything up the 'Green' ( Western ) end, so about a third of the showground - from the Viewing Village up - isn't it?

Which for me would more than cancel out the positives from the pit zone.

You say that Brevet, but what if it's the Tutor display confirmed?

Edit - The Blades making their debut.

Bit lost at Fairford I would think, although I like their display. And if they arrive with the Oilspill 727 then all is forgiven!

For me I thing it's down to seeing blades to often and the RJF display last year I really enjoyed.

Or 'Jobs for the Boys', keep those ex-Reds earning. RAF pension mustn't be enough these days.

Ridiculous booking from DBH, glad I held-off on tickets this year instead of having my money squandered on beach-front acts like that.

Bit harsh, axe to grind perhaps?
They display their aircraft really well. I think the main issue for them will be accessing such a long crowd line.

Seaside show act, just what I'm paying £50 to go and see.

Well no, you're paying £50 to see a Harrier, Hornet and whatever else gets announced over the next 5 months.

Don't fret just yet :up:There's always something slightly less noisy and boisterous anyway. Personally I quite like a few different acts to mix it up. Like I said, their issue isn't how well the display is flown, it'll be somehow getting to either end of the display line.

If we have the Blades one day and RJF on another I can cope with this... but if we get both on one day I will be very disappointed.

I have to say this is probably the most underwhelming RIAT update of all time, and very frightening if it is a sign of things to come!

You've not seen many RIAT updates then - it can get a whole lot more underwhelming than this - Eurocoptergate anyone...

I've got no problem with the RJF, nor other teams such as Team Orlik & the Swiss PC-7 Team who use prop-jobs.
The difference in my opinion is that The Blades are a civilian display team.
