Wednesday and Sunday look the best days weather wise. From what I’ve seen, every other day has rain forecast at some point, with Friday looking particularly bad with a chance of Thunderstorms.

Uh oh what did I miss? :hide:

One more thing to add, whilst i'm thinking about attending the Friday. Coming down on the Friday is far more expensive on the train than on the weekend due to peak times. Not RIAT's fault but that has to be taken into consideration surely? Especially as i'm paying to see half a show?

Ticket plus train is just over £110 not including tat, food and gimmicks! I could get a coach though :dunno:

So in total Saturdays show is cheaper :dizzy:

Hey all.

I'll be doing Departures on Monday for the first time, yeah I know its not even started yet, any advice etc? Including whereabouts of the P&V enclosures (I've heard people go on about the East and West).

Do folks think the USAF static will be more or less in the same place as usual?

I predict a RIAT ;-)

Park & View at each end of the runway, East at 27 & West at 09. Get there early, tend to fill up rather quickly.

Until Thursday evening, there's absolutely no way of knowing where anything will be parked.

Cheers :-)

The better half wishes us to arrive at P&V around 9am, is that likely to be too late? I'd prefer earlier...

Far too late to get a good spot.

I suspected that would be the case. I'll have to revise that somehow...

Just with regard to both enclosures, is the step ladder enclosure in use again at P+V? Only the one in 2017 was so far to the right of the runway they weren't touching down in front or just to the left of you.

2018 in West was better, but not totally sorted.

And whereabouts will it be located, do you know? Does anyone know?

Concerned that if I go P+V East it will be another case of "another shot of touchdown behind a photographer".

I would hazard a guess that the stepladder enclosure will be to the East (right) of the touchdown point on the runway as it has been for years now.

If you want side on touchdown shots you'll need to get there early and bag a spot at the front.

Thank you, I am driving from Wrexham so don't think I will be lucky enough to get a spot. Unless a kind-hearted soul fancies saving myself and my brother a spot, payment can be either £20 or unlimited chips that day?

Japanese is into and out of Heathrow so why should there be anything attending apart from the person themselves or am I reading it wrong.

I read that as him solely attending for a conference - nothing aircraft related at all.

I do believe it was a prank. Although it would be nice if one of their shiny new 777s could drop the delegates off at Fairford :heyhey:
