Children, do give it a rest, for all our sakes.

Now then, the airshow so far...

Oh yes...
Tutor - beautifully flown
Both Hornets - mental
BBMF - grit in eye
RAFAT - sorry, but you're a wally if you still think the Frecce were better
Italian Spartan - back to its  best
Blades - meh
Special flypast - many things, but not the adjectives the over excited commentator used
Italian Typhoon - Great
RAF Typhoon - many times greater

That'll do for now. Cracking day so far.

Attended yesterday - what a show

Highlights same as above - Spanish Harrier pair, Mig21, Su27, Both Hornets, USAF Viper, Belgian F16 flyplasts, 747 & Reds Flypast, Reds & PDF flypast
I also enjoyed all the foreign team displays Frecce, Jordanians, PdF and Brietling Jet team who flew a superb choreographed and graceful display to music to close the show! RIAT is the only show where we can get to see all these foreign teams

Only downside was the horrific traffic getting out of the Red car park yesterday - complete standstill. On 'Air show Live Radio' they kept saying it was because too many people had left at the same time ( at the end of the display ) and that they were 'doing their best to sort the situation in the car parks'.

Slightly off-topic but does anyone know if anyone will be selling any prints of the 747 and Red Arrows formation at all?

Forgot his phone.

Reds have also bailed with a nice fly past.

Just to add to my earlier post...

MiG21 - yes, wow. Just wow.
Breitling Jet Team - no. Why, just why?
Harriers - wonderful.
Traffic getting out - pretty much non existent
My dad for buying me a grandstand ticket - dad of the day.
The little lad (about 2) next to me when the RAFAT flew over at the start - probable highlight of the day.
The silence when the BBMF flew and spontaneous applause for each Lancaster pass - gritty gritty eye.
The tools on here who supplied the Chuckle brothers comedy throughout parts of the afternoon - both amusing and ridiculous. I hope two of you at least get bans for your nonsense today.
Overall - great day.

Still sticks a bit that had I been yesterday I'd still be watching the display, but taken out of that context, as good a show as you'll see this year. Hats off to DBH (apart from their marketing team and Sunday flypast committee...)

Good to see a few UKARian folk this morning too.

I completely agree with you, they are a complete disgrace to the forum.

Try contacting Squadron Prints, they might do a drawing version

I’m not 100% sure that’s possible without the hook falling off.

I heard the pilot say his hook had deployed inadvertently, then he climbed to height to make some checks. He asked if there were any fighter types airborne to do a visual inspection.
Then before landing he said he had flight control issues. Didn't hear him mention the tailplane specifically.

Got home and took a look at the pictures. I'm going with essentially zero chance the arrestor hook is the cause. You can see it's sitting right where it belongs. It honestly just looks like delamination to me.

It was a shame to see the Viper Demo Team go tech so soon, the display looked quality from what little of it we saw today. The Finnish Hornet was brilliant, and it was nice to see the Spartan back to its best again.

Totally agree about the Spartan - it really shouldn't be possible. Love it.

Overall a pretty good day but like someone previously said, the extended lunch section did drag on.

Great to see the Spartan rolling around the skies and the BBMF Lanc again.

A special shout out to the Italian support for this year’s show which were all entertaining acts and made even more so sitting next to their countrymen in the stand! Ciao!

Other non-flying irks and issues made the weekend as a whole a bit disappointing for me personally but I guess the organisers can’t please all the people all the time. Have a good departures day all, I’m looking forward to a rest!

I don’t think so. The osprey had to go in to Brize and missed his slot, but they got him in later.

Jeeeze, just seen the close up photo of the USAF F-16s starboard tail section

I saw it yesterday and the display was good, my highlights were;

The Frecce Tricolori, I saw someone post that if you think they're better than the Red Arrows then you're off your nut or something. Well they knock spots off the Reds the latter need a rather more restrained commentator as well.

USAF F-16... indeed all the fast jet solos who managed a full display!

The yellow entrance has been moved from where it was in the last couple of years and a good thing to.

The A400 and C-27J brilliant as usual, can't understand the critique of the Breightling team, they were ok. Spanish Harriers... I just don't get it? All this hovering round.... that's not what it actually does, same with the F-35B, showing off the lift fan engine????

B-52 is intending to depart. KC-10 & German Tonka on the North are both broken.

Yes, Vador returned for some reason! The ERJ had departed already!

I saw them working on the KC-10 earlier, and it sounds like the Tonka is properly broken!

Departing in the morning. I asked their crew both Friday and today to make sure they both said the same. Can't remember the time though sorry, before 10am.
