How many of you are going to order the dvd this year, do you think planestv do a good job or would you rather have the dvd back in the hands of dbh?

I watched RIAT 2019 and that was pretty cool, so I expect the DVD has got some good bits - y'know, ferris wheels and that kinda thing

This gives you an idea - I'm not actually that impressed with the amount of 'not aeroplane' footage in this footage of the 'full display' by the MiG, but it seems that it's what's on the DVD, so may be indicative of the rest of it :dunno:

Watched bits and bobs over the last few weeks. Just my 2 cents, but some of the footage seems very shakey, and in a lot of instances the aircraft aren’t tracked properly so wingtips/noses etc get cut off a fair amount of the time. There’s quite a vast difference between acts as well, the Swiss F-18 being very well filmed whilst the Romanian Mig and Spanish Harriers are pretty crappily featured.

Also a lot of footage seems to come from days when items displayed in the worst of the weather, rather than on other days when they got more favourable conditions...

Some frustrating bits cut out too, for example there is a glimpse of that insane USAF F-16 takeoff from the cockpit in the intro, but this is then not shown in full during the actual footage of the display...

The difference in quality between the slow-mo footage and the regular speed stuff is quite stark too.

I'm still missing 18/19 from my collection as I've not found the disposable income/justification to purchase.

I much prefer the older TV style of product. Loads of slow motion and bass drops don't really do it for me. Looks all shiny and nice but not for me.

I will buy 18/19 but I'll probably buy at a show rather than online.
