Our weekly aircraft participation updates for RIAT 2020 begin today! We have listened to your feedback and our Air Operations Department have kindly agreed to give you some behind the scene snippets of information to accompany the weekly confirmations to add to your excitement as we plan the world's greatest airshow.

Our first aircraft confirmations today come from the Royal Danish Air Force, who are always great supporters of the event. Firstly, they will be sending one of the CL-604 Challenger aircraft for static display as part of our Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance theme. The aircraft is used for a variety of tasks, including maritime patrol, and supported the RAF Red Arrows on their transatlantic flight to the USA last year.

Secondly, performing in the Air Tattoo flying programme for the first time in many years will be a Danish F-16AM Fighting Falcon from the Royal Danish Air Force. The display is flown by the Fighter Wing, based at Skrydstrup, and the intention is to use their stunningly painted jet in 'Dannebrog' livery (which was on static display at RIAT 2019).

Since our Embassy Visit programme last year, the Air Operations department have entered into positive discussions with a number of nations who hope to support RIAT 2020 with aircraft. Many of the aircraft on our "wish list" are focused on the two key show themes and we hope to bring you more details in the coming weeks and months as plans progress.

Danish F-16 Demo is a very positive start. With the inclusion of the Challenger, it’s good to see the themes being followed.

Danish F-16 at Yeovilton has been a highlight of the last few years so really pleased to see it here and with the special jet even better!
Danish Challenger always nice to see!
Good start!

Is the people’s republic of China always on the invites list? I honestly can’t remember. They’ve certainly got some beautiful toys that would fit the themes.

Hopefully it means they’re gonna bring the F35A demo team or an A10 as they’re free on their schedule for RIAT weekend

Great display, happy with that.

It's nice to hear that they are planning on more detailed updates once again, something that I've really missed.

part of me wonders if it will be more the case that they will be fly-ins like the f-35 has been since it joined the RAF, rather than being at the show they will fly in and then return if operations allows it.

I think the F35 should do it similar to 2016 and the P-3 will likely be like the C130J-30 which flew in a flypast on the Friday of 2016. Likelihood’s are it will do just a flypast with the F35 and then be finished. I should think the F35 will do it’s own display though.

Anyhow, great to see participation announcements kicking off, January seemed to last for ages this year. Its a good start, let the build up commence.

Wow, great first confirmation to kick off RIAT 2020 aircraft participation!

Loved photographing the Danish F-16AM in static last year so be great to get some of her doing what she does best. Such a bold and iconic paint scheme too

Did I read earlier in the thread that the Polish AF have also self confirmed their F-16 with an awesome low viz paint scheme? :ninja:
Bring Soloturk, Team Zeus and Vador to the party and you’ll have some impressively painted jets.
