Anyone know where we stand with refunds? The ticket line and chat are now offline and the statement mentioned nothing about this.

I just edited my post above to include it, but yes. Either full refund or potentially forward payment to 2021. More info in new few weeks.

Its not unexpected but it is a real shame. There will be many others too I expect. Its going to be a quiet summer.

Stay safe everyone.

Extremely sad, but not unexpected. RIAT is always the highlight of my year. Come July I think those that complained about last years airshow may suddenly realise how incredibly good it was.

I will be keeping my FRIAT ticket for 2021. Here's hoping all this virus rubbish is over by then and that RIAT can continue without too much trouble.

It will more than likely be over before RIAT 2020 would have happened, but the knock on effect with everything will take a lot longer to get back into place.

I'm just disappointed that the park and view isn't going to be filled with desperate togs all fully dressed in hazmat suits roasting in 30 degrees temperatures most of the day, then cursing the sheet of lies when the Pakistani Herc arrives late listed as an Italian again as they trudge back to their cars.

What's the betting the week it would have been will be glorious wall to wall sunshine this year? :tumbleweed:

Just been on Sky News (yeah, I know), UK Government has received a report from SAGE (collective of scientists about emergencies such as this) that states that we should plan for social distancing to be around for up to a year. With an arrest today on the Isle of Man for not self isolating, I think there is more social unrest going to unfold before any of this gets better.

Cancelling the 2020 show is more than understandable. I wonder now though, given the SAGE documentation, if 2021 will end up being tricky to plan for. It's all an unknown. So no, you don't need to quote me.

That makes no sense at all in here. Please join the negativity in the wishlist 2021 thread for an answer.

I just deleted a couple of pointless 2021 threads. There's no call for them to be made right now - it's tasteless.

Gutted, but fully understandable. I can't imagine how those at DBH and the hundreds of volunteers that go into making RIAT happen are feeling right now knowing their hard work won't come to anything this year.. They are the ones who will be most upset over this tonight.

But celebrating military aircraft that are designed to blow people into small pieces and pink mist is OK? You have a very strange moral matrix.

Nuclear weapons are, frankly, the reason you are alive to type your comments.

Unless you've lived in an alternate timeline then you don't know that, don't state assumptions as fact.

Best to be positive and look forward to brighter days - can we start a RIAT 2021 wishlist?

Perhaps we can re-adjust our expectations. Looking back over the years, so many petty arguments (myself included) about whether it was a good show, a certain aircraft cancelling, performed on Friday but not Sunday, departed in the wrong direction, sent the boring colour scheme, back up aircraft on the live side etc etc. With hindsight, these all look rather myopic. We should all have valued what we had.

It looks like the Pakistan Navy will never attend RIAT
