No definate answer yet. All i know is, that RIAT organisers HAVE invited the F-22 Raptor, and that there is NO F-22 Raptor display booked anywhere else on that weekend.

So with that said, it looks promising, but then ive heard people saying its unlikely there will be an F-22 this year.
So, sorry no definate answer yet.

how do we know that this is true, surely RIAT wouldnt false advertise an f-22 on there poster, they had a rafale on it and thats coming. all im thinking is no USAF planes are even flying yet so theres hardly going to be an f-22 put up there yet, fingers crossed and it will be there

If you bothered to read the previous thread (linked to above) you will see that the crew themselves have confirmed that it will not be coming this year. Or perhaps you think they are lying?

RIAT posters have never born any resemblance to what appears, after all they are done nearly a year in advance.

2007??................Take a look at the poster from then. Don't think its a case of false advertising but a case of hoping to attract the worlds top military aircraft, but as we know, it is not always possible to do that. A lot of aircraft are not definite untill they arrive at Fairford on that weekend and by that time it is way too late to be putting together posters and what have you. Apparently the F-22 was asked to come, but weather it comes or not is out of their hands.

I can even print screen the email if you like :butt:

Going on that logic; the Osprey was on RIAT 2000's brochure... F-22 on 2007's... a 74Sqn Typhoon on 1999's.....

I do not think I have seen an airshow poster that actually features the aircraft that will be flying. The poster for Cosford 2009 shows the RAF participating with Tonka's! Well we all know that they wont be.

The Breitling team is listed under Civilian/Visitors. If I'm not mistaken the F-22 has been featured on the RIAT poster before, but as we all know it made its UK debute in 2008, so I dont think you should look to the poster to see what will be attending the RIAT.

If the demo pilot said they wouldn't be there this year i think its pretty safe to say they won't be there, im guessing F-15E demo with the B-1B and B-52 but who knows, at this stage i would prefer to see the A-10

Nobody seems to have mentioned that there is also an F-86 Sabre on the poster, but I dont see one of those on the participation list yet, or anybody complaining about it.

i would rather see an f-22 than an f-86, the f-86 will be there if it can make duxford it can make RIAT, still i think there is a chance the f-22 will be there if the f-22 website hasnt confirmed it than the pilot isnt gonna go and say stuff to random people that email him just wait bus USAF havnt comited 1 plane to fly as yet so the f-22 if does will be put up in time unless that guy shows us the email as proof

toomw94, why are you so certain the F-22 will display? IIRC it was a bit of a coup that RIAT got it last year

And don't forget that afterburning B-2 that was on a poster one year too!

I'm surprised a few people read into this so much. All it means is, it's on the poster!

I have PM'd him a screenshot of the message (then atleast I can't be accused of typing it myself aswell!); it was a private message between myself and Zeke so out of respect its not coming on the open forum.

I dunno, take the trouble to actually go and find out from the Horses mouth and get this; I don't know why I bothered now!

Well, I certainly believe you, and I think RIAT can still pull of another great show with or without the F-22. There'll be plenty more shows where it may attend, and I'm happy to wait.

Regards.
