What have they done with the land warfare parking now? can you still park on the museum side of the road?

Anyone else enter the land warfare end and not have their ticket checked? The new entry and ticket system to go back to your car seems totally pointless if you’re already on the venue anyway
So you can still park there? I'm guessing you need to arrive quite early?

You can park on the grass however you park up then walk up to a booth apparently I must have missed, you have your bag searched at random then if you return to your car you have to show a little ticket thing to prove you’ve been admitted even though you never leave the venue so why they feel the need to do that I have no idea

Acceptable, until the finale when it poured with rain (sort of rain that gets you soaked in about a minute) for about 15 minutes, even though the sun was out!
They held off the final flypast and break to land until it cleared.

Apart from the torrential downpour at the end, the weather was pretty good. The light on the Hind solo with the dark clouds was impressive. A very good day, John Romain's opening display in PL983 was superb.

My 10 year old turned to me last night and said that this was the best show of the season we'd been too, and i'd have to agree. To begin with it was all about the Czechs for me but by the end of the show my opinion had definitely changed.

Some really nice formations especially the Blenheim, Lysanders & Gladiator.

The launch of 16 Spitfires and 4 Hurricanes was just a sight & sound to behold.

We used the park and ride bus yesterday for the first time, i actually thought it was easier than parking onsite. We got there at 9.20 straight on a bus and into the showground by 9.50. We positioned ourselves up on the Tank Bank and bimbled back looking at the stalls after the show, was on a bus shortly after 6.30 and back at the park and ride for 6.45. We definitely think about using this rather than paying the £5 parking.

Can anyone tell me why a bit of fog delays the opening of the flightline walk exactly?

It’s a lovely opportunity for some different views of the aircraft, which Joe Public is denied yet a bunch of photographers in hi-vis are free to wander.

I can't answer your question, 're the opening of the 'flight line walk ' but have always wondered why there are privalidged photographers that get out before the paying public and inevitably get in the way of some people's personal photographs.
If they are the so called press, why don't we see there work pub!lihed?

Brilliant day, the Balbo take off from the tank bank was brilliant. JR flew two brilliant solos the pr11 will long be remembered by me for the occasion and that joker for just what a brilliant display in a lovely spit!

Rather amusingly the crew didn't know when I asked them this afternoon, but word on the street is midday.

I left before the Balbo but seeing the tank bank open again, I opted to go that end. Like you say some great take off shots to be had. I missed the first take off of N3200 as it flew almost overhead. I then missed the Corsair as well, to say I was cursing would be an understatement.
Although the show seemed a slower pace than in the past, I thoroughly enjoyed the day.

I know what you mean.

Thoroughly enjoyable day, loved the Sptifire and Hurricane departure, worth attending for just that 10 or 15 minutes alone. Also notable were the Lysanders, Blenhiem, Gladiator and the Spitfire solos. No weak displays for me. But somehow the flying display didn't seem to quite add up to the promise of such a busy flightline. More time spent with solo displays than I had anticipated, not as many wow moments as I thought there would be. Maybe just me?

Are the BBMF suspended during the mourning period? I couldn't hear the commentary.

I really thought it was an absolutely superb display. Some displays a little further out than others, the Yak 3UTI probably being the biggest example of that. But overall, a huge amount of highlights. The early World War II fighters formation was fantastic, along with Bearcat and Corsair which did more of a pairs display than normal. A really superb a day out. And I did feel the IWM managed to appropriately pay their respects to her Majesty the Queen with the two minute silence and playing the national anthem while the Balbo broke to land. Easily one of the best airshows I've been to in a while.

Also a quick question, stayed until IWM closed and the Thunderbolt, the Fighter Collection's Spitfire and P-40F came back to Duxford, does anyone know where they had been?
