I probably don't need to confirm my interest!
I am like a stick of seaside rock, break my open and "Northolt Nightshoot" would be written all the way through me.

I don't think any one stays overnight for the night shoots, unless they are from across the water. I do a return journey on the train from Cambridgeshire. The nearest hotel is the Days Inn which I did stayed at for the arrivals day/night shoot in the summer. On base time is about 2 hours and there is no ramp tour although if there are no aircraft movements you have been allowed closer to the aircraft than the double white lines on the taxi way.

I stay at my house! I only live 8 miles away!

Sorry about that, Northolt is 4/5 miles North of Heathrow, so plenty of Hotels nearby. Buses and tubes run nearby so routes to Central London and the hotels there.
The normal routine is get to base around 5-30'ish, check in with Graf or his team of Rustlers! We then meet near the entrance to the 32Sqn pan for a safety brief and a talk about where we are allowed to stand. This normally means behind the yellow line. Graf and the staff at Northolt try to position the aircraft for good photography from the yellow line. Also, a set of air stairs maybe available to use as a high level vantage point.
The shoot lasts to about 8.30 to 9.00'ish.
No ramp tour. However, hangers are sometimes opened and photography allowed from the doorway. Also sometimes other bits of the pan are opened up, but that is at the discretion of the Northolt team.
Also remember to bring a hi-viz vest or jacket. No flash photography. Recommended is a tripod, remote shutter release and probably warm clothes as it is being held in January!
For a report from a Northolt shoot see:

Hope that helps.

For the arrivals shoot I stayed in a YHA in London....very cheap and very convenient....got there at midnight and went straight to bed....woke up at 6:30 to catch a train back to bristol
