The James Bond 50 Greatest (Aviation Content)

Post by Unknown74 »

I have just seen the list of 50 iconic James Bond items, and while I see Little Nellie - the Autogyro - is in there (can't recall the number) I notice with some shock and surprise that the Acrostar Mini Jet which came out of the Horsebox and flew through a hanger is nowhere to be seen.

A Marchetti SF.260. Always wanted one of those. :joystick:
50 Shades of Grey: sounds like a paint chart for modern jets

Just as good, when Bond flips the sat nav/tracker open and there on the map is Southend-on-Sea.

Going off topic there was a rumor going round that The Fast & Furious 6 was going to be filmed in London & Southend! Much that I would love it to happen I will beleve it when I see it.

It is being filmed in the UK, so chances are quite high.

Mine is the L-59 dog fight in Tomorrow never dies, flown by Mark and Ray Hannah I think , Stunning flying. and there is the motorcycle pilatus chase at the start of Goldeneye when he goes off the end of the cliff runway to skydive to the pilatus, again an amazing stunt.

Our Beech 18 was used in Octopussy
We also had the Vulcan Models in our hanger at North Weald.

Not really that good?? Southend appeared on in Goldfinger breifly, but hardly worthy of the greatest aviation content lol

but you are right about Fast and Furious 6. Its due to be filmed on Southend seafront thanks to the Olympics causing a few probs with filming in London. Guess they'll have to turn the speed cameras off eh

Probably none, but I think that says more about producers not wanting a Carvair in their film
