The flight over West Wales was to take in where? Cos I believe that I may has seen the said flight take place.

The final operational sortie ended in a fly-past at Aberporth Range.
The latest official word I have is...
Thurs 5th July - HW and HB will fly to leeming via a few airfields
Mon 9th July - GA and FL will fly to leeming via a few airfields.
No plans to do the loop and not 3 sorties as somebody on FC posted...but thats just what I have been told. May not actually be the *latest* plan...

A pity if 2 are due to Leeming Monday one of them couldn't of been made available to RIAT and flew from Fairford to Leeming Monday!

Do you really need an answer to that? Was there one at Yeovilton, Waddo or down for RIAT...

QinetiQ have already made their policies on public outings quite clear, ask VL, Waddo and RIAT...

The lack of QinetiQ at these shows is down to an insurance issue nothing more nothing less.

It is not an excuse it's a simple fact. In any case its not like we have some god given right to see them at airshows.

Also are the Korean eagles going back to leeming on monday? There's a FAC exercise Notamed for the airfield on the 9th as well, so it could be a good day to go there. Weather is looking sh1t though.

The final 3 are lifting 1300 today for a flypast over boscombe then to Leuchars and coningsby before landing at Leeming.
No plans for RIAT and no plans for the loop although boscombe didn't know about HW's loop diversion....

Hi Rick,

Is this because of RIAT not asking, or the powers that be not wanting to?

Seems like a perfect goodbye to fly overFairford and the many thousands here. (yes including me)

It was planned months ago that HW/HB would fly clock-wise around the uk to Leeming via airfields.
On Thursday HB dropped out so HW went through the loop on its own so all the 'avtogs' (hate that phrase) could photograph it again :hypno:

It was also planned months ago that FL/GA would fly counter-clockwise around the UK which is what they are sticking to...so their route wouldnt take them anywhere near Fairford.
Anything can happen though, you never know...

The VC10 that flew through on RIAT arrivals was planned...and it also had a helicopter photographing it from above circuit-bashing at Brize before hand! Most likely for the Brize documentary...

Off topic-ish, if anyone has a contact email for the RTP section at leeming could you PM me?

Made a single pass at Coningsby.

Nice to see the last 3 ships carrying the last 3 squadrons i.e 25, 43, 111.

A real shame but I never expected to see an F3 flying in 2012!
