I was advised this evening that 7 Sqn are planning to bring a Chinook in for a gas and go during the event. Maybe 30 mins on the ground.

Which should cause some havoc if Preeeeoch gets his pan(ts) wet first - hope you've all got waterproof kit!!

If was Treeoch who requested the water on the apron, so don't blame the youngster!

The Chinook eta is 1830.

He wont be staying any longer than it takes to fuel the aircraft as he's on another tasking.

We will endeavour to get as many of you through the gates as possible to catch him before he buggers off!!

One of the best yet. With 2x A109s and a Sea King on the pan, the line up looked a bit sparse for a short time but once it got dark the cavalry in the shape of the Army Air Corps arrived with a Bell 212/Gazelle/Lynx who stayed for about a hour or so. An SF Chinook dropped in. Literally. Landed, taxied in front of us, static for about a minute and taxied back into the darkness and up, up and away. The Met police helicopter paid a short visit and the Belgian A109 sat on the ground with rotors turning. A pair of RAF Regiment Tonka Toys with a WWII army Jeep also put in an appearance.

Many thanks to Phil, Lee and the rest of the volunteers for an excellent evening and looking forward to the March event.

Absolutely brilliant, maybe not the best cast but didn't they make up for that with a heck of a polished performance, Thanks Phil and helpers and especially the pilots who made it so good.

I just want to say thank you for the night shoot. Thank goodness the weather stayed away and gave us a dry night. It was fantastic to see so many helicopters today and even better seeing passing helicopters popping in for a short while. Mind you it's an understatement to feel the force of some 12 tons of down force when the Chinook started to fly away.

Hope to get the photos edited over the weekend.

Thanks to Phil and the team

I must reiterate what Pen Pushers has had to say, what a great evening at RAF Northolt, great to have the SF Chinook come and go, excellent participation from the AAC, nice to get a FAA Seaking before they are all retired just a shame it didnt run, and the Belgian A109 was a treat and what a friends crew, thanks guys and then the RAF Reg with some of their toys for the boys! All in all a great evening, lets hope for another good evening soon!

Well done to the team who I know work so hard to try and ensure that the aircraft turn up, another great effort! And what a great bacon butty service!

Suggestions for next time, AAC Apache, RAF Merlin, Puma and King Air or will it have to be a FAA Avenger :) ?

Just to echo the above, many thanks to Phil, Phil's assistants (The Philettes?!) and the team at Northolt and visiting aircrews. I had a jolly nice evening, everyone was so nice and friendly and it was a lovely, mild evening. The Chinook was great and the AAC did a nice job with the flag. I've yet to look at my photos but here's a quick vid of one of the best sounds of the evening http://youtu.be/z5Xt1NTX4G8. Cheers all!
