Supporting WZ507

Supporting WZ507

Postby Matt H on Sun 10 Feb 2013, 7:13 pm

WZ507 is currently grounded, pending a major maintenance inspection which we hope to complete in time for the summer. Every 8 years a major inspection is required and 2013 is the year this is scheduled... An average year sees expenditure of over £20000 to keep WZ507 flying; this year the figure will be even higher due to the cost of this inspection.

If you would like to help keep WZ507 flying, any support would be hugely appreciated. There are two easy ways to help -

1) Membership of the supporters club - this starts from just £1 per month and is the ideal way to keep up to date with all our news and maybe visit the aircraft for a guided tour! Details here:

2) Alternatively, maybe you could be interested in buying the new Airfix model of WZ507 from our online shop? This is a great little model of our Vampire and every kit we sell helps fund WZ507's future. Details here:

Thank you in advance - hopefully you'll see WZ507 flying again soon!

To me that sounds better value than the money that is being poured into 558 £20,000 for a Vampire not blood sucking at all.

Good luck in these very hard times.

Our website has just been updated with more information about the costs we anticipate this year to complete a major inspection and return WZ507 to flight. Any support towards this goal would be gratefully accepted - £20,000 per year might not sound like much to keep this unique jet flying, but without this annual expenditure WZ507 simply cannot fly. Matt dont suppose you fancy doing and night and day photoshoot with WZ507 and the proceeds go to the club and maybe bring in some of the other teams at North Weald. I know its done but this one would be for the Vampire?

Is there a Vampire Preservation Group facebook page? I'm sure many of us who are of the facebook generation (see that, I was trying to avoid saying 'young' ) would appreciate one

Thanks for posting the link Mike!

A photo shoot might be a possibility Andy, we will certainly look into this.
