D'oh

Not down for Duxford either. Had a quick look at TFC's website and can't seem to find any info on displays. Is there anywhere else this year that SNAFU is displaying or was Flying Legends it?

Crikey, this is such bad news. A beautifully restored P-47 that is a real wow factor on the UK airshow scene and there's only been 1(?) display. I am gutted and was really looking forward to Shoreham to see Duxford's participants like SNAFU, the Sabre and the Mustang but the first and last have been pulled from the line up now

There are also 2 more shock exits to the usa this fall/winter

Sadly a way things are going on the UK Warbird scene

I'd advise people to make the most of them while you can

It has flown at Legends 2012 and 2013, Duxford's display in May 2013 and I believe has been to one or two events away from IWM. May have also flown at Duxford last Sept/Oct, can't quite remember.

Any body got any news on the other departures? F-86 one of them? That's been rumoured for a long time.

The F86 has been up for sale for some time but there has been no takers that I am aware of, as such it will stay at Dux for the immediate future.

As for the other departures, I am aware of 2 that are intended to leave these shores before the next airshow season starts but until it is made public by official sources I wont let on what they are. They will let it be known when they want it to be.

Dan

Was talking to someone from Duxford at Waddington and if it's one of the aircraft he said, a lot of people will be up in arms. When the news is made public

With Snafu on the move, I can only think of two other Duxford residents that I would consider to be "shock" departures. Both fixtures on the UK airshow scene for decades...

Either post what you know, or shut the feck up about it in the first place, you don't impress anyone with the "I know but cant tell you boll oaks". Just makes you look like sad old men to be honest.

Seeing as its now knowledge that two a/c will be leaving Duxford this winter and nobody willl say what they are, I will take a guess at the B-17; Elly Sallingboe has hinted for a while that this season could be the aircraft's last...
