Looking for a Flying Legends exhibitor

Post by Poffe! »

Hi all,

At last years Flying Legends show there was an exhibitor of vectorized warbird art posters. The posters were usually in only three colours (black, white and a colour). Problem is, I can't remember the name of the exhibitor. And I've had no luck trying to find it by googling.

Does anyone know what exhibitor I'm talking about and can help me to a website of the exhibitor? Thanks in advance!

I've added an example of how his work looks like roughly. Of course his work is much better.

Regards,
Poffe!

Dont think it was Vector or Aces High, I think your mean the guy in a small white tent who was also the artist and on the same side at the tower? The pictures were a little like cartoons but very well done?

Have a look at the traders pages below, TBH I dont think he is listed

Yes he was indeed in a white tent, I think we're talking about the same guy. But he doesn't seem to be listed on these pages. I've added a rough example of what his work looks like in my original post. Of course his work looks much better.

Does anyone else know who the artist is?

Cheers,
Poffe!

Don't think it's him but the added pic is very close to what is been looked for. Maybe ask Duxford direct? Can we ask why you are looking for the artist?

Well I like his work. I'm moving soon, and I was thinking of maybe buying some of his work for my new appartment. I should've taken his card, but didn't. Now I regret it
But yes, maybe I'll email Duxford to see if they can help. Thanks for the tip!

@Petedcollins: No it's not skytoons. The artist I'm looking for has a completely different style.

Cheers,
Poffe!

Not that its particularly helpful but I'm pretty sure he was at Abingdon too. He was one of the earlier stalls on the first row that ran parallel with the aircraft parking area. My wife and I spent some time looking at the work because it was a bit different to most other aviation art.

I did pick up his card but after checking out his website, didn't purchase anything and didn't keep the card............ sorry.

Hello,

This might be the artist you've been looking for, he was at the Abingdon show last year: http://bentartgallery.co.uk/category/aviation-art.html

I think you might be right but I didn't realise it was the same guy who now does the RIAT artwork and gets some very strong reactions on this site as a result.

Have a look at http://www.fineartamerica.com there is some one on there called Michael Tompsett that does similar paintings. Others may wish to have a look at this site as there appears to be UK Low level and airshow photos for sale

The art on the "aircrafft" site is excellent. The sort of style that would be well-suited to airshow posters, a world away from the technicolour vomit that Bent spews out for RIAT each year.
