Museums in north east France
Museums in north east France
I'll be on a trip back from Sinsheim/Speyer in January routing back to Calais. I want to take in any large museums not too far off that track, but already decided I'm going to route via Le Bourget! Any other collections on the way in the Metz/Reims/Amiens areas?
Re: Museums in north east France
Thanks, I went there but couldn't be bothered going through every one of them to see where it was in France! So if anyone just happens to know of any N/NE of Paris that would help. What are the numbers by the names in brackets on that site? They aren't the number of airframes there - which would help.
Re: Museums in north east France
It's the region in France, bit like counties in the UK.
Why do you want us to do all the work for you?

I don't. Hence my clear and succinct ask 'if anyone just happens to know...' which merely means if anyone knows of any then a quick reply.
Thanks for dropping by, come again soon.

Albert museum is worth a look, quite a bit there. North of paris and if you are going to le bourget you can pick it up on the way

Thanks for that, will drop by.

Not France but not that far out of the way is Flugausstellung Hermeskeil.

There are a lot of interesting planes there, mostly outside. Plus a Concorde mock up that they use as a cafe.
We went a few weeks ago after Milan Museum of Technology, Volandia at Malpensa and Verkehrshaus Swiss Transport museum at Lucerne over 4 days.
I recommend all four... and a shopping trip each afternoon for the missus!

Albert only open Saturdays unfortunately or else I would have dropped by. Hermeskeil, yes indeed, will do that next time I pass through.

I think HA was being more helpful than you realise. The site you have already looked at shows where each Museum is, using the 'Department' numbers, shown in brackets. The map below may help!
North / NE of Paris suggests 02, 08, 51, 59, 60, 62 or 80, but hopefully, you have the info you need to find what you want.
