We are currently talking to multiple show organizers in the UK that have contacted us to put a tour together. Many of the major shows would like us to attend. This visit is shaping us to be a massive event and we urge sponsors who wish to share in the publicity to contact us which will alow the European public to see Janet and the team
Within certain circles maybe, but as others have said there will be - pretty much - zero interest from anyone who's not already going to be attending these shows, especially if it does make it to several. If several includes RIAT, Cosford and Duxford, plus maybe a couple of others, that's going to be pretty much their entire enthusiast base covered, but with people who would have attended these shows anyway (I would guess). Had it only been Farnborough then maybe, but I think drumming up much in the way of sponsorship might be tricky for them, although of course I wish them luck in their ventures.
Compounding the possible problems is the fact that it's likely to be a one-off tour (unless I'm missing something?) so no great incentive to plough £££ into it for future revenue or publicity, unlike with '558 which you knew would be hanging around.
It may be a lovely aircraft (I'm not personally fussed by it) but it just won't have anywhere near the impact of last year's Canadian Lancaster visit, and I can't think of anything else to compare it to. Have we had, in the UK, anything similar before - i.e. a relatively low key aircraft coming over for a one off tour?
Sorry to sound negative by the way, if it's at RIAT I will of course be pleased to see it!
