The Hunter at HHA costs £4000 per fillup, the Bucc holds 12 tonnes of fuel. The only reason the Hunters are flying is that contracts exist which pays for all that. So far there is no demand for the Bucc and therefore it will not fly; if the situation changes they have the authority to fly her. Fingers crossed that the F-4 becomes suficiently economically viable to be based and used in GB.
So do they taxi or at least run the Bucc?
Wes....
Anti Det runs are done on the SU-22 and Bucc yes that is correct.

So HHA now has two airworthy F-58s, plus one in store/rebuild (ZZ194) - is its 2-seater XF995 flying currently? I guess with this 'new' jet, the restoration of T.8 XF994 will slow - a shame.

They have acquired a 2 seat Hunter from Brazil and it is currently being shipped over at the moment, they hope to have it flying very soon (possibly PP-XHH - ex Embraer chase plane) They also stated they 'will' have there 2nd F-4 Phantom on static at RIAT next year. Also all aircraft will receive the Splinter Camo livery as seen on ZZ191 in the static at RIAT. (ZZ190 to recieve new livery in coming weeks)
Hawker Hunter Aviation Ltd. (HHA) at RAF Scampton has come into possession of former Embraer flight-test chase plane Hunter T72 PP-XHH. Currently housed in one of the main Scampton hangars, noted on 4/9/18. This 2 seater will be returned to fly as soon as is possible.
Slight thread drift I know, but according to their website, HAA have 12 Mk.58 Hunters! Anyone know if they are all airworthy? They have 17 aircraft in total (currently, including the Fitter and the Bucc).

The G-INFO website only lists 11 aircraft, mostly Hunters.....6 still registered ( 5 Hunters & a Buccaneer ) and 5 de-registered ( all Hunters ) No mention of the SU22 on there, though....don't know if it - and others - aren't on the UK register yet

And the one at Scampton is NOT the flyer, nor will it ever be. Spares only etc, supposedly had its main spar cut.
The F-4 flyer currently in Germany as far as I know as of last month is still scheduled to fly to Scampton in the next 6 months... Just awaiting the Germans to sign it all off.
Interesting thread, i wonder if HHA have the necessary approvals from both BAFA in Germany and DTSA in Washington for the aircraft? I highly doubt that DTSA would approve transfer of the APG-65, ALR-68 and J79 tech data to a UK Private Entity, the provisos on TPT for an item sold, and later upgraded under FMS would be quite restrictive i would expect.
Based on the above, i wouldn’t expect to to see 38+48 in the UK anytime soon. Also, one has to wonder how it can have a UK MAR Serial allocated, i doubt it has been through the MACP process for a MPTF.
