I'm guessing VTTS already know what the 'donation' will be per fleece, especially as they're using the logo under license.

Not much point in VTST knowing it but not passing that information on to potential purchasers, though, in my opinion.

Would you buy something which is supposed to support a charity/organisation with no information as to just how much / what percentage goes to them ?
If I was thinking of stumping up £90, it's something I'd want to know beforehand.

Having a quick look, the same company does fleeces for the RAFBF which sell for £80 ( but they don't get the free ball   ) from which the RAFBF get £20

Well, at least it'll make the morons easier to spot.

But if the actual 'donation' as a % is relatively small then you're probably better off not telling potential purchasers, as it may put them off.

How about this for an idea...................... :heyhey:

Why doesn't everyone not buy anything from the VTTS, let them go bust and get taken over by someone else who will approach the CAA and get permission for a ferry flight elsewhere, ( There is someone who posts on here (allegedly from the trust or is in the know)) states that 558 will never fly again.

When she gets new owners, then people may feel more trustworthy and give up there hard earned money again........

I'm starting to reach the conclusion that any money given the the Trust is not only wasted but actually harms 558's future. People need to stop giving money to these clowns to squander on themselves Let the Trust go bust so a new volunteer group can take over.

With all the money wasted in wages and expenses since 2015, 558 could be in her own owned hanger by now instead of having to have people's names printed on her wings to pay people's wages and pawn herself to pay rent on a roof over herself month to month if she's lucky.

Just reading this weeks newsletter..
"...We are seeing tremendous interest in the opportunity to have ‘Names under X8558’s Wing’, with over 1,200 people signed-up..."

1200... I am genuinely amazed. :dizzy:

Good news, that should cover the wage bill for a good few months.

£110 - as per previous event in July. Additionally, £65 for accompanied 16-17 year olds his time.

Both Engine Runs sold out again. Not sure if/when the next ones are planned to take place.

With the wing inscriptions apparently selling like hot cakes and the expensive engine runs selling out it still seems like 558 has plenty of generous fans. I really do hope though some of this money actually goes towards her future rather than down the drain as so far. The VttST is going to be around for a but longer at this rate - whether that's good or bad news for 558 (or whether it will even matter longer term) who knows.

Less surprised than I once would have been. I once thought the Trust were passionate about 558 and although they made some mistakes their hearts were in the right place. The truth seems to be emerging from various sources (not just the internet but those I spoken to that were involved) that it really did become a gravy train and 558 is basically a meal ticket for these people. I firmly believe now personal interest and financial gain was the overiding if not only reason behind the bizarre decision to retire her to Doncaster. Such a disgrace. I only wish people would stop wasting their money paying these people and save up for when someone who actually cares about 558 (rather than their own bank balance) can help her.

I'd be very interested to see a list of ALL names/roles of staff and contractors still drawing money from the dwindling XH558 pot. Perhaps XR219 can supply one?

I know Dr P said people had been let go, with the remainder dropping down to part-time remuneration, but it really has to be volunteer-only now, surely?
