BBMF Grounded
Doesn't sound too good, hopefully it is nothing serious and their aircraft will be back up and running in no time.

Well...nuts. Merlin issues will be bad for Biggin this weekend! Let's hope it's not too long!

So, an issue with the engine type they've been operating safely and successfully for over half a century? How very peculiar...
Re: BBMF Grounded
Oil, coolant or fuel?
I have vague recollections that they were at some point going to move away from mineral oils and use synthetic oils. I think they were also looking at changing from their current fuel (?AVGAS) to a more readily available type?
May be totally unrelated of course.

Question is, what's contaminated the engines? Carrots, spluff or jelly?

A doggo which had been chasing a pupper ate some carrots and then spluffed all over the BBMF’s jelly. Fortunately no rainbows were harmed.
Thoughts and prayers are with all involved.

Re: BBMF Grounded
I suspect a short term non-story. The grounding will likely be due to the processes put in place by the MAA, just as we've seen relatively minor items/unserviceabilities/concerns ground other fleets for short periods

Given the engine fire on the Lancaster and how it took to get her back in the air I can understand why they are being cautious.

The tweets referring to the grounding appear to have been deleted. Interesting...

A bit pointless really, considering the tweets have already been copied/shared/seen by everyone.

More top quality journalism in the choice of photo of the Lancaster above the caption "The BBMF is home to one of only two airworthy Lancaster bombers anywhere in the world"!

Bit harsh! It's not like they've pictured the Dakota or Sally B is it?
