RIAT 2022 UKAR meetup

Post by Ian G »

In keeping with tradition of the last few shows, same time and place as usual? Sunday at 9.30 by the Wonderland Models tent. I'm sure a few of the UKAR staffers might make a guest appearance too.

Pure disappointment guaranteed

Will there be beer and strippers again? If so count me in (I'll get my 6 year old to avert his eyes. From UKAR staffers I mean - he's fine with strippers now...)

Legend has it the Brevet Cable (remember him?) once came and stood right next to us but didn't make himself known, which makes me chuckle to this day!

Possibly if the flying starts at 945 the meetup might be better at 9 instead of half past? Just a thought.

Depends on the weather.

If wet, it will be held indoors. And so will the meetup.

9am it is then! Bonus points for UKAR lanyards and 'azerty' t-shirts!

There’s a treasure-trove of UKAR merch over the years. Some of it recent, some classic. All of it gloriously terrible.

Must find my lanyard. My UKAR baseball hat is packed to go. I also have a UKAR cup, but that was a prize from a comp on here a long time ago. Btw did any one notice Brevet was on the site last week? and I know he's going to fairford so he may turn up!

CJS Brevet camps not far from where I pitch, I speak to him ever time we have been, spoke on line recently hence I know he is going.

Right then, I’ve just remembered to look this thread up and check the time and day. I turned up at 09:30 on Sunday, and lurked for five minutes or so, but we drew a blank.

Most irregular.

However I can vouch for the fact that IanF was indeed proudly wearing his UKAR cap in FRIAT. Kudos granted.

Chris and I were there at 9; we thought the consensus was that time as the flying started at 9.45.
Heyho, maybe next year we can get an announcement over the tannoys.

I like Wrexham got the time muddled thinking it was 9.30, plus I was also a tad late, but I did indeed have my UKAR hat on! At the moment, I cannot put pics on here, but I do have a picture of a certain person with his Meh hat on! I may try to get the picture to Wrexham?
