Do they have a "just giving" page?

I give it less than 24 hours before that project goes TITS up.

Aren't we a little late in posting that Tommy? Nice shot from Len btw.

I’ve seen them before, not too exciting, just a pair of low level swingers ….

Re: Interesting Internet
I've not seen this mentioned elsewhere - the Lightnings and Buccaneers from South Africa may (just may) be in line for a reprieve.
Hangar 51 plans to get most of them in the air again apparently.

I also noticed it in this month's Flypast magazine. Apparently one of the Buccs has already run its engines again.

Re: Interesting Internet
I’ve heard rumours about this for a while, but this is the first video I I’ve seen of the Mi-6 being restored at the Russian museum of helicopters at Torzhok (a sort of equivalent to the Museum of Army Flying at Middle Wallop). It arrived following transportation last year.
This would, if fully restored, be quite an amazing feat! Unsure if it’s a flier or just ground-runner, I’ve heard mixed things.
In any event, it’s very weird to see modern video of a running Mi-6!
Obviously I’m passing no comment on my thoughts on the Russian state at the moment. The vid posted purely with my AvGeek hat on.

So if I’m right (I’m often not) Kermit Weeks has KB976s forward fuselage & wings and KB994s rear fuselage but the rear fuselage of KB976 is with the Just Jane guys at East Kirkby?

Re: Interesting Internet
Watched this last night, well early morning, its nice to see that the airframe appears to be in very good condition, excluding the roof damaged parts!
The rear sections both being finished is bonus, it should only take around 10 years to finish the rest (this is an absolute guess as I'm no engineer, just wishful thinking that it could be possible to have 4 flying Lancasters before I depart )

Kiwi C-130H(NZ) heading to Europe to support Ukraine ops for a couple of months at UK request. Leaving tomorrow, arrival Monday - Easter surprise!
https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/new ... rt-ukraine
https://www.beehive.govt.nz/release/new ... rt-ukraine
“The measures decided by Cabinet today include:
The deployment of an NZDF C-130H Hercules transport aircraft and 50 support personnel to Europe – for two months
A further NZDF 8-person team logistic specialists to support the international donor coordination centre in Germany with the flow of aid and supplies to Ukraine
An extra $13.1 million, towards military and legal and human rights support, including:
$7.5m to contribute to weapons and ammunition procurement by the United Kingdom
$4.1m to support commercial satellite access for the Ukrainian Defence Intelligence
$1m to the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights
$500,000 for the International Court of Justice and International Criminal Court
...
Over the next two months, our C-130 will join a chain of military aircraft from partner nations, travelling throughout Europe, via the United Kingdom, carrying much-needed equipment and supplies to key distribution centres, but at no point will they enter Ukraine, nor have they been asked to.
...
The Minister of Defence, Peeni Henare, said he was pleased New Zealand could offer the additional measures to both support our partners and Ukraine.
“These measures today follow decisions in recent weeks by the Government to help support Ukraine, including the supply of a range of defence equipment requested by Ukraine, and the deployment of nine defence intelligence and liaison personnel.
“Over the next few months, our team will travel throughout Europe transporting much-needed equipment and supplies to key distribution centres, but at no point will they enter Ukraine. The Hercules is set to go on Wednesday.
“This deployment is in response to a direct ask by the UK, which identified that New Zealand could play a tangible role in supporting what has become an enormous logistical task,” Peeni Henare said.

Re: Interesting Internet
I assumed it would primarily be of interest for the spotting possibilities, rather than impressive added capabilities...
Re: Interesting Internet
Very interesting re spotting - I might move the same to the heads up section actually! Good find, mate.

Re: Interesting Internet
Also interesting to see the 7.5 million to the UK to contribute for the weapons and ammunition procurement. Anyone know how this works? Are they chipping in to the weapons and ammo we have already said we are sending or are they buying kit off us and donating it to Ukraine?
Re: Interesting Internet
Translated, it states that the rumour is that Germany is buying Chinooks to replace its old CH-53s. A big shame, I had hopes they’d be a European operator of the King Stallion.

Re: Interesting Internet
The Germans are really on a roll with their poor equipment selection for aviation enthusiasts aren't they?! First they were looking at buying Kawasaki P-1 for the Navy and opted for Poseidon. Then they ordered F-35A instead of the planned Super Hornet/Growler purchase and now they pick Chinook over CH-53K. Christ!
