We had the discussions in June and ended it there looking at the thread, believe it was AndyXH558 who resurrected the sniping which I feel is a bit unfair, so I replied, no big deal.
As stated, this forum needs all the arguing/any comments at all it can muster at the moment, perhaps this should be troubling mods more than BJTV debates?

I just want to add something on this.

BJTV is polarising and not to everyone's taste - fair enough.

However there does seem to be this hate campaign against him, with that facebook group and some of the comments on here. Alot of what's been said is unfounded rubbish, and unsubstantiated rumours started simply to try and discredit him. That's where I get annoyed - there's no evidence for most of the slating that goes on.

He's a business trying to make some money out of a hobby we all love - I guess some people must be jealous about that because they didn't think of it first - but I think good luck to him. I'm sure he makes mistakes, who doesn't? Just because he isn't an enthusiast in the same way some here are doesn't make him any less eligible to do what he does.

Give him a break.

So you know for a fact he was never given key worker status?

Of course he doesn't, but then you don't know for a fact that he was. It seems perfectly possible that he was given that status as a broadcaster, but I doubt (or care) whether anyone on UKAR knows either way. Whether he deserved it or not is up to every man, woman and their dogs to decide.

I personally don't think a lot of what he does, but then I seem to have been blessed with this wonderful gift of being able to not watch things that don't interest me.

Dyer claims it on his Facebook. He also claims to have posted the letter on his website.

"Having been in the Media circles for many years and worked with camera teams from around the world, we always respect other camera operators’ space to be sure we’re not in each other’s shot. This is just common decency and etiquette..."
Ooops. Would that be the same "respect' he showed to the camera team, under Press Office escort at Heathrow(?), by trying to get them to move so he could get a better view?...
Surprised he didn't get a set of 'sticks' shoved somewhere...

This is indeed a very strange discussion, as has been mentioned, if you like his stuff watch it, if you don't then give it a miss, why someone would watch something they don't like just to get annoyed I don't know.
If he truly has broken any rules I'm sure the relevant authorities will deal with it, so then it just comes down to a load of disgruntled and presumably bored people trying to discredit him because they don't like him.
All very strange, maybe people think it's like the antisocial football fans giving the sport a bad name? , well I've got news, most people I know think watching aeroplanes is pretty sad, I doubt any of them have heard of bjtv and would probably consider him just as sad as the rest of us :joy:

Just wondering but doesn't key worker status be confirmed by the company you work for??

I ask as Big Jet Live TV is a separate and registered company, so shouldn't the key worker letter come from that company instead of Reach PLC? As he is working on behalf of Big Jet TV and not Reach PLC?

Big Jet is at the Gatwick Aviation Museum on Saturday morning, for 'live' EE Lightning and Shackleton engine runs if anyone's interested.

Both of those are loud enough to drown out even Jerry, so might be worth a watch.

I just can't understand why anyone on here would want to listen to the..........errrr......errrrrrrmmmm..........errrr........ummmmm..........sniff..........stuff that comes out of his mouth. He believes everything he sees in the comments on his You Tube & Facebook feeds from the 'experts' that he trusts and then members believe everything he errrmmm.........urrrr....says. This is where all of his misinformation comes from.
It's what you would call a vicious circle.

Has he given up on the military side of things after being investigated - anyone know?

He did something like a 9 hour live stream from Cologne last week, being airside at the major cargo hub there. Then he was back and streaming the Lightning and Shackleton engine runs from Gatwick Aviation Museum on Saturday, followed by another Heathrow visit today.

You can't argue that he doesn't put the hard hours in for his subscribers, and as I've said before, they're the only ones he really needs to keep happy as they are his main bread and butter.

I watched the live engine runs yesterday (as a freeloader), and he did a decent job of covering it tbh. The staff there were great too and seemed very knowledgeable about their aircraft.
